Gave U3A talk on the Rowlings family. From Saltash, but as a member of the Waterguard (forerunner of the Coast Guard/Customs) moved around the coast of Suffolk, Norfolk and Lincolnshire before settling in Grimsby. What an adventure for a 20 year old travelling 350 miles for work in 1820! #coastguard
