Since the beginning of the year, 2,209 people have crossed the Channel in small boats, UK Home Office data shows.

📷Spanish authorities on Friday (Feb. 27) rescued 41 migrants off Ibiza after a search for several boats missing on the Algeria–Balearic route. One vessel was found off Mallorca and another south of Ibiza, while the Algerian navy intercepted two boats last Thursday.
At least four migrants died, and at least ten are missing after an incident involving a migrant boat off the coast of Tobruk in eastern Libya, the UNHCR confirmed on Sunday.
No details have yet been released about the nationalities of the people on the boat.
