Several Idaho Sheriffs have issued veiled threats for tomorrow’s protests. It looks like they’re chomping at the bit to exploit these protests, which have been peaceful all year, into an excuse to use force against Idahoans. Know your rights.

Reports we are hearing (from PI folks who were there) are that the Tesla protest went off with zero violence or issues. There were armed counter protesters and a Hitler cosplayer... But zero physical violence.

Details about this homegrown (alleged) terrorist are sparse but LCRW was the first outlet to take Terrorgram and their local leader, Boise's Matthew Allison, seriously.
Before today, this was the only examination of Allison available at all. Today's work largely echoes it.
Other groups are now calling this a false flag. Thus far the proof I've see for that is screenshots of the social media rumor mill doing it's thing. I see no *actual* evidence, quite the opposite.
I don't think it's a smart protest, but saying it's a false flag without evidence is also dangerous.

The reason we posted what we did in our groups is because some people, for some reason, care about our take on some stuff like this and are asking. This will in no way discourage anyone who was already planning to attend from attending.
No one is tamping anyone's enthusiasm.
Hell, we wouldn't even post about it unless my inbox hadn't been filled by questions trying to figure out who was organizing it and if it was legit. countless people think it is a false flag -- I'm on record saying it probably isn't.
This event, in particular, the fact that some of the most radical risk-tolerant activists I keep an ear to are saying they wouldn't touch it... it's not about being afraid, it's about picking your battles. And there's TONS of protest opportunities. There's one at the VA at the same time!
No one is sour on protesting and everyone has to operate how they feel appropriate. But high-risk protests like this can do severe damage to the resistance if they go south -- we recommend that anyone jumping into something like this have solid support/activist network behind the scenes.
I get that, 100%. but there is a balancing act to play here, I'm not so much worried about personal safety, as some events like this being put together on a whim going south and being used against the resistance.
update: after talking with a bunch more folks, I'm still unable to find any local organizer for the Tesla protest. Personally, I do not think it's a false flag, I think if that were the case, it'd be better executed.... But as far as myself and every organizer/activist I've talked to is able to determine, there's no local organizer. I can't, in good conscience, recommend that anyone take part in a protest without a local organization. Also, based on all the escalating nazi social media mutterings about this, my personal threat assessment puts this in a VERY high-risk category.
