Honestly it helped me realize that I have more amnesia than I thought I did. I thought it was distinct lines too and I thought that memories were just you blacked out and woke up a while later. Realizing how it actually works helps me realize that I do that all the time.
-incredibly traumatic that forced my system to erect much firmer dissociative barriers for a time and forced an alter to vent that hadn't been front since high school so they had *massive* memory holes and didn't mask it. So like... my suggestion is "don't wait for further trauma!" :P
I will say that getting on Adderall has helped me with that question about ADHD because the absent-mindedness I still have is probably tied into my DID.
But yeah, that's how I felt about it. Honestly would have taken me a lot longer to figure it out if it hadn't been for something-
I absolutely get that but for what it's worth... I'm no expert but if that's an ongoing, repeated thing, I don't think singlets have to deal with that as a regular thing they encounter, in the same way cis people don't wish they were the other gender.
Oh I most certainly will. Just gotta psych myself up for it but I've gotten a lot better about putting myself out there.
