Oh I really like that. It gives a lot more flexibility, especially for partners/relationships/new entangements where there's not a clearly defined dynamic or both people are switchy.
It's so good getting to use the subby lines but in a dominant way. Once had a hypnotized partner use a riding crop on me because I like experiencing pain but I did not want to be submissive. "Is that all you've got?" hits different when you're not saying it as a brat, but as a threat.

I would love that. The problem is to do it right they would actually have to address these inherent colonialism in the Western genre. And there are ways to do it! There are wonderful stories that could be told addressing that. But they are far too cowardly to ever try it.

The OGL for 3.5 dnd was to the indie TTRPG scene what coal power was to industry: It absolutely supercharged a huge swath of it, but it left behind damage we will spend generations fixing. All the "Not everything needs to be DND" that exists now? Knock down consequences of "every game is d20 now"
Some of our less formed alters do get that craving. Echo calls it combobulating - it's usually between alters who are very fuzzy or limited and so they want to "more," and they want that with a particular other alter... but I don't know if that's the same thing you describe.
