3D models have a topography made up of polygons that describes the shape of an object. The “texture” is applied to those polygons to provide color, and surface qualities of the object (reflectivity, translucency, etc). The raven looks like a 3D model that’s missing its texture information.

Right. Also, the show took some hits when a couple of major cast members departed and the budget was cut.

This is something that I think has been forgotten by the billionaires… the unspoken social contract in the US was that if you maintain the middle class we won’t revolt. As they try to gouge more and more out of us, the more angry we get. This never ends pretty for the elites and their heirs.

It’s kaiju movies for me. I can imagine Godzilla kicking the shit out of a city or another monster as me beating up a virus.

Roddy McDowall was a regular on FJ and Jonathan Banks was the bad guy cop perusing the heroes of OW.
Now that I think of it, the Planet of the Apes TV show might fit into this genre as well, and McDowall was on that show, too.

There were 3 different shows that had more or less the same premise that came out just a couple of years before Star Wars: Other World, Fantastic Journey and Logan’s Run. A (found) family travels a countryside encountering odd micro societies. Sliders is a more recent version of the genre.

I have a few memories of that show. As I recall it was trying really hard to be Star Trek.
