Good morning and happy Friday ๐
Alan has chosen a great theme of #SteppingOut - birds captured mid step - for todayโs #BirdOfTheDay theme.
The Oystercatcher has got fed up with the gull's chat and is off for a walk.

Stepping through tea-colored shallows, a slender, medium-sized wading bird (2โ / 2/3m) with dark blue-gray head, neck, and upper body, contrasted against white belly, underwing lining, and a white stripe running down its foreneck, to a long, sinuous neck and dagger-like bill of black-tipped yellow.

Red Kite - The image displays a red kite (Milvus milvus), a large, distinctive bird of prey in flight against a clear blue sky. Red kites are known for soaring gracefully over open countryside. They are primarily scavengers, feeding on carrion, but can also hunt small prey

Lovely set Rob
The image depicts two waterbirds swimming in green water: a Cormorant and a female Mallard duck.ย * The bird in the background is a Cormorant, a large, mostly black waterbird. It has a long neck, a hooked bill, and a distinct yellow patch of bare skin at the base of its bill. The cormorant's feathers are not waterproof, which is why they are often seen holding their wings out to dry after diving for fish. * The bird in the foreground is a female Mallard, characterized by its mottled brown and tan plumage. * Both birds are swimming in water that reflects the surrounding green vegetation, with some small aquatic plants visible in the lower right.
Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme from @robcrank68.bsky.social is #MixedPairs photos with pairs of different bird species

The picture shows a close-up of a Carrion Crow, standing in green grass.ย The bird has glossy black plumage and a sturdy black beak. Its feathers appear slightly wet or ruffled in places. The bird is situated outdoors in a field of green grass, which is in soft focus around the edges of the frame. The bird is facing the camera directly, looking forward.
Thursday is here, this crow would rather I buggered off judging by the look!

Alan @alan678.bsky.social has chosen todayโs #BirdOfTheDay theme. It is #ShoutItOut birds calling out. The alt theme is #NestBuilders birds with nest material.
A Duet of White-fronted Bee-eaters and a Yellow weaver.
A crow is holding a clump of light-colored, wispy dog hair in its large, thick black bill. Some of the hair is also tangled around its dark feet, which are gripping the top edge of the fence which it stands on.
For the alt of todayโs #BirdOfTheDay #NestBuilders I have a crow who liked the texture and flavour of dog hair in the nest

Amazingly this is my first Robin photo. They are only a winter visitor to the area around Pinoso and are very skulking. A few breed in different habitat about 40 minutes away. This one was giving it some! #birds #birdphotography #birdsseenin2026 #canonphotography #robin
a close-up photograph of a Grey Heron The bird is partially obscured by tall, vibrant green reeds or grass, which fill most of the frame. The heron's head and neck are in sharp focus
