Just accidentally copied something from a PDF file on my laptop (CMD-c in Preview) and pasted it into a document on my desktop machine (CTRL-y in Emacs) ... and it just worked! I honestly didn't know the two machines shared the clipboard (via Bluetooth?) Feels like magic ... 🪄
Several colleagues have written about the problem of #memorization in #LLMs. If you're interested, I wrote about my own experiences and experiments in German in "Was liest #ChatGPT?", published last year in Digitales Lesen, ed. by Susanne Düwell and Nicolas Pethes. tl/dr: I am not surprised.

This is Minerva ("Mimi"), one week ago, out on the lawn in our backyard. She will probably not make it through the night. Her health has deteriorated lately. But she is comfortable now and surrounded by the little herd of #GuineaPigs she has led for the last five years. Godspeed, Mimi.

Just bought a second-hand copy of an old Terminator 2 release on Blu-ray, i.e. pre James Cameron's AI upscaled and DNR'd disaster versions, and what can I say? It actually looks like it's a movie shot on film, not a puppetered video game.
Does anyone have or know of a recording of the broadcast "Medien und Krieg" [Media and War] from Radio Bremen on 17 February 1991, feat. Friedrich Kittler, Wolfgang Coy, and Wolfgang Hagen? This is the broadcast mentioned at the beginning of Kittler's "There Is No Software".
