Any statement that begins with “I’m sorry for the deaths, but” is inherently questionable.

I tried the keybed firmware update that’s supposed to solve the issue for the bottom black keys but noticed no difference. It honestly feels like a really cheap keybed, even for mini keys.

Lower ones are worse but they're all pretty bad in comparison to the white keys. That's my guess too - I think it'll be a return rather than an exchange.

A Reaper screenshot showing two notes, C#2 and G2, with the curves from me playing aftertouch below them. C#2, as the post describes, essentially is only on and off, while G2 shows nice gradual curves.

Got a Fourm and the poly aftertouch curve on the black keys is basically a toggle. I'm like, 103% sure that aftertouch isn't supposed to act like an on-off switch. First note is low C#, second is low G. Back to Sweetwater it goes.

He's a patsy and unlikely to say or do anything controversial enough to land himself in a Congressional hearing. I suspect he'll stick around.

Now, if Vance becomes president ahead of schedule, I'd expect Rubio out almost immediately.

My Logitech G935 headset was one of my worst peripheral purchases. It has a design flaw where the power button will inevitably fail and cause audio cutouts. They shouldn’t continue selling it.

I have a $40 Keychron keyboard (the Amazon exclusive C3 Pro RGB) and a $30 Redragon mouse. They’re both lovely.

I’ll note that my C3 Pro RGB replaced the original model, which had a key go bad rather quickly. The RGB version has hot swappable switches, though, and has held up thus far.

This is 100% my experience with gaming mice. I'm probably never going to spend more than $30 on one ever again. No-name brands can include high quality sensors and the middle mouse button will probably fail on me in a year and change anyways.

Mine likes to stop working every so often, but unplugging it and plugging it back in fixes it. Given that the USB port it's plugged into is always powered (regardless of whether or not the computer is on), I'm not overly surprised - I've seen this behavior in other devices. Otherwise fine.

I think the $40 price tag is doing it a lot of favors. That seems to be “impulse buy to play with friends” range these days.

Thanks, of course. The twins are actually helpful insofar as I don’t even have the attention span to dwell on current events for too long. I think a lot about what the current state of things may mean for their futures, though.

I’m never going to be the guy who writes songs about fighting back or whatever, I just want to write songs about witches, cults, cyberpunk dystopias, and vampires. So that’s what I’m doing.

I’m so tired.

I’ve posted and deleted things a few times because I realized that I didn’t actually want any engagement and getting into arguments would just make me more tired.

I can see why a lot of artists post nothing but music-related things despite the current climate. It’s just easier.

So psyched for Neo, going to it for the first time was one of the highlights of my 2025.

...I crushed hard enough that I wrote a whole fucking album about it. Whoops. In fairness to me, 2020 did a number on all of us.

Probably the second thing I'd fix about the GBA (first being the cramped screen resolution), but it's 100% true. The GBA was so close to being the perfect 2D handheld.

The N64 desperately needed more texture memory, but I'm sure it was expensive enough to make as it was.

Exactly. Music has the same problem as video games. The vast, vast, vast majority of musicians will never make a living wage from it no matter how much music they create so long as supply/demand is what determines that. The math doesn’t math.

Arclight Halo Arclight Halo channels industrial, EBM, and futurepop through a lens of occult ritual and cyberpunk dystopia. With inspirations ranging from mainstream electronic acts like Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails to dark scene stalwarts like VNV Nation and The Crüxshadows, Arclight Halo blends driving rhythms, atmospheric synths, and powerful vocals to deliver a familiar yet unique synthpop sound.

Hey friends!

It's Bandcamp Friday - I'm cooking up some new stuff but it's not quite ready yet.

But! Both All You Are (my single from a few months ago) and The Witch (my EP!) are "name your price", even if that price is $0.00! Music has no monetary value due to supply/demand, I won't feel bad.

The version of the song I’m working on that lives in my head is a real banger.

I wouldn’t need them to be collapsed if they were all equal. I forgot about the gift membership thing - it’s so dumb.

Fun fact: my primary YouTube account is a “brand account” because of the Google+ real name bullshit way back when, and library transfers are too stupid to let you pick. Google stuff does a terrible job of working with multiple accounts and brand accounts have limits, so the whole experience is ass.

I really, really miss Google Play Music. I discovered a lot of my favorite artists through it and then they completely destroyed everything good about it.

Oh, finally - why does the desktop app not remember what I was playing when I last closed it? Spotify does this seamlessly across computers and mobile devices. Basic shit, man.

Apple Music’s iOS app suffers from Liquid Glass like everything Apple does now, but otherwise it seems fine. Jury is still out on the algorithm/discovery, of which Spotify’s is the best I’ve used but YTM’s isn’t bad.

01.02.2026 16:33 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

YouTube Music suffers from being integrated with YouTube. That’s gotten better over the years, but it still sucks because I want my music and YouTube exactly 0% integrated. It’s bad enough that I pay for YouTube Premium and still won’t use YTM.

Actually, honestly, it’s worse than YouTube Music’s UI in a number of respects. The main thing is that making it annoying to go from a song to its album or artist hurts discoverability - it hurts artists. The library management is clunky but I’m sure that’s iTunes tech debt. A lot of it probably is.

01.02.2026 16:27 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Talking about the Windows desktop app here. It even gets volume wrong overall - the increments are too large and even the minimum volume is kind of loud.

Spotify nails the UI in most respects and none of these things are rocket science.

At least it’s not YouTube Music, the worst I’ve tried.
