That was the working title...
Think HR would approve?
Short bristled filberts with minimum amount of paint.
Well that explains the headless Joseph.

Been wrestling with this one for a while now, and finally completed it this weekend. I am not a religious person, more of an apatheist, but every painter takes a stab at a madonna once right? Even accidentally? Its a tradition.
Madonna of the Garden

The other painting I finished last weekend. I work on between 4-6 at a time, so sometimes they get finished at about the same time.
"How CLose You Can Get Without Touching"

Miasma
Wow, this kinda blew up overnight. Thanks for the love! I was going to name it "Miasma" because I thought that meant 'dense and gurgling', but when I looked it up, it means, essentially, stinky. This is the first time a painting has told me its name and I have declined. We're in uncharted teritory.
Another rainy Sunday paint-all-day. I had had a name for this, but I looked it's definition up and it did NOT mean what I thought it meant, so I guess I will have to stare at it for a while.

My agent, pictured, is happy that I found a solid eight hours to spend uninterrupted in the studio. This is an unfinished work in progress, but it told me its name early on. 'How Close Can You Get Without Touching'. 30x40, acrylic on canvas.
Winter has been challenging, and I have had not much time in my tiny studio. My apologies for the dearth of posting. New paintings have been started, and hopefully the break will reenergize the work. Watch this space...

This is a print I made a few years back. The sky is an orthographic map of my neighborhood, and the moon is a satellite map that linses up perfectly. The building is an iconic derelict coal tower.
16" x 20", satin photo paper.
Edition of 50.
If I spent half as much time thinking about why I make art as I do making it, I would probably be a little more successful getting it out there. My house is filling up, and little tiny jpegs don't do them justice.
"Phantasm"

Maybe a few more touches needed, and definitely need a better photo, but here's the latest. Looks pretty dang good in person, if I may disabuse myself of imposter syndrome for half a goddamn minute. You just gotta see these things in real life.
"Lost in the Crowd"
30" x 40", acrylic on canvas.
Meant to further develop the squares idea, but the brushes had other plans. I sometimes fear that I have no identifiable 'style'. Oh well, so it it goes. I suppose the important part is to just keep making, & trust that it will all sort itself out.
"Ghosts in the Grass"
30" x 40", acrylic on canvas
I am trying to break up my style a little bit, see where it goes. This is where it went. Im not a huge fan of the name, but thats what it told me it was and was quite adamant. So...

It was a doing cat dad stuff morning. The Marvelous Mr. Miso assumed his safety post and scanned the vet's office for interlopers. An intruder was identified, but was later determined to be non-threatening. All in all, everyone was very brave.
Data as seen as an asemic written language that we are falling helplessly through; a harrowing yet colorful state of affairs. The bad news is that you too are falling, the good news is there is no ground.
All 24" x 30", acrylic on canvas.
My life is a complex array of textures and chaos. And cats. Coming soon, the falling series. Sorry itβs been a while, but these new joints take time.
This one? This one is going to take a turn. I just thought I would post it up to document what it was before it becomes what it will be. Will it be better? I don't know. Im trying to become less risk averse.

KInda want to stop here because I like it... but if I push it, it could be spectacular. Or it could become overworked. Its an age old dilemma, one I am ill suited to solving.
