We’re outraged that a disabled trans person has been failed by
@carladenyer.bsky.social & @greenparty.org.uk
& Bristol Council! We will fight for transparency, dignity & support where others have stayed silent. This is fucking unacceptable no one deserves to suffer like this. We stand with you.

A dear friend of mine so poorly let down by @carladenyer.bsky.social and Bristol council. He’s disabled, trans, attempted suicide multiple times and yet he’s forced into unsuitable housing that’s leaving him stranded. As the council is making him move his MP will now change too. How bad can this

The recent supreme court ruling on gender identity has started to take effect. The BBC reports that trans women will likely be barred from women-only candidate shortlists. Our government seems dead set on reversing progress.

For once, good news! The court has just ruled that the Apple encryption case involving the UK Government should not be held in secret. This transparency gives hope for a free society empowered by technology, in spite of the recent moves made by our government to compromise our privacy.

At Pirate Party UK, we believe in transparency and real accountability. We call on the Government to reconsider its decision and fully implement the Ombudsman's recommendations—restoring public trust in our democratic institutions. #PiratePartyUK #Reform

Women born in the 1950s have contributed tirelessly to our communities, only to be let down when their rights were ignored. It’s unacceptable that such dedicated contributors are left uncompensated. #StatePension #Fairness

Why should ministers have an Ombudsman in the first place if ministers are free to disregard their recommendations? Ignoring these findings sets a dangerous precedent that undermines our checks and balances. #Democracy #TrustInGovernment

The Government's decision to ignore a robust, six‐year Ombudsman investigation is not just bureaucratic bungling—it's a colossal waste of money. It's yet another example of them following the #MAGA playbook. If you're going to have an Ombudsman, use them! #Accountability #WastedFunds

Pirate Party UK stands for sharing ideas without neglecting those who produce them. We urge policymakers, tech companies, and creators to collaborate on a solution. “Open” and “fair” don’t have to conflict—we need both to keep creativity alive.

We’re calling for accountability from AI developers. If creators—especially self-published authors—never see compensation, then the promise of open libraries rings hollow—ethical licensing, open collaboration, and revenue-sharing need to be on the table.

At Pirate Party UK, we champion free culture and transparency. Still, letting AI firms train on unpaid work from LibGen—and then monetize it—can wipe out earnings for smaller authors. It’s not just about access; it’s about ethics and livelihoods.

LibGen is often used to share research and books openly. AI companies scraping those same works for profit raises real concerns. Creators put in thousands of hours writing, proofreading, and self-publishing. We must protect both open access and fair compensation.

We believe in a balanced approach: open knowledge shouldn’t mean undercutting creators. UK law allows text/data mining for non-commercial research, but for-profit use differs. Authors deserve recognition and a fair share when AI products profit from their work.

The Pirate Party UK demands robust anti-SLAPP measures both here and abroad. It’s time to reform our legal framework to protect activists and hold those abusing the system accountable. #PiratePartyUK #DefendDemocracy

From Shell’s intimidation to the $660M SLAPP targeting Greenpeace in the US, these cases highlight a disturbing trend: legal threats used to stifle activism. Our voices deserve protection everywhere. #GlobalJustice #FreeExpression

Justice Minister Keiran Mullan MP rightly slammed the government for delaying the Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation Bill. Our right to challenge power shouldn’t be held hostage by abusive legal tactics. #AntiSLAPP #LegislativeReform

SLAPP suits aren’t just a US problem. In the UK, cases like the one against Zahawi’s lawyer and even the Prigozhin affair show our legal system is being exploited to muzzle critics. #UKPolitics #StopSLAPPs

Shell’s lawsuit against Greenpeace is a textbook SLAPP – a bullying tactic meant to silence dissent, not secure justice. Abuse of legal power happens globally, and we won’t stand for it. #AntiSLAPP #FreeSpeech

The Pirate Party UK stands with disabled people. We demand that reform efforts target tax evasion and fraud—not the most vulnerable. Our welfare system must support, not punish. #StopPIPCuts #JusticeForAll

With Universal Credit overpayments running at an estimated 12.4%, tackling fraud could save billions without harming the disabled. Let’s focus on the real culprits rather than the weakest in our society.

While HMRC lost an estimated £5.5bn to tax evasion in 2022-23 (and likely much more in reality accord to PAC), the government hell bent on saving £6bn by cutting support for those already struggling to make ends meet.

Reforming PIP is an attack on our most vulnerable. Labour’s plan targets disabled people and those most in need of support, not fraudsters who cheat our system. #ProtectPIP #PiratePartyUK

Tightening eligibility and forcing more frequent assessments will put lives and well-being at risk. Instead of punishing vulnerable people, we should be clamping down on tax evasion and fraud.

We call on GB News, Ofcom, and all broadcasters to safeguard true impartiality. MPs belong in Parliament, not behind the news desk—our democracy depends on it. #PiratePartyUK #MediaIntegrity #Democracy

No MP should ever occupy a role in professional or mainstream media. Their presence at the news desk inevitably distorts the democratic process by compromising unbiased information. #PiratePartyUK #MediaIndependence

This isn’t just a technical breach—it’s a fundamental threat to democracy. Mixing news with politician-led commentary turns objective reporting into partisan propaganda. #PiratePartyUK #Democracy

Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code is clear—news must be delivered impartially. Yet GB News has repeatedly used MPs as presenters, risking the erosion of trust in our news media. #PiratePartyUK #Ofcom

The Approved Judgment in GB News v Ofcom lays bare a dangerous precedent: when MPs step into news roles, they blur the critical line between impartial journalism and partisan commentary. #PiratePartyUK #GBNews
