Here are some of my notes around the impact of #AI on human #cognitive load, where it shines, and where it lacks substantial impact:

Note for anyone who hadn't previously seen the Auckland Farmers Santa Claus - it was worse in person
(I say "it" rather than "he" because this is obviously an entity)

βTomorrow is not guaranteedβ is one of the quotes that reaffirms itself more frequently than one might expect.
There's a really great MinutePhysics video about the aesthetics- and physics-based reasons for the number of wind turbine blades: youtu.be/pgqkti7yePk
FWIW, fediverse voted differently judging by the number of boosts earlier this year!

A cowboy dev in a room cracking code is a good start, but a successful product needs more than that. From growth, UX and from financial perspective.
Hard pill to swallow: for most people, federation and ownership of data, and evil corp using their data for malicious goals are not enough reasons to switch. People want - and deserve - good #UX and network effect which is very rare in #fediverse family.
Haha. Northwind. Thatβs a name I have not heard for a long time.
Chamonix is to runners what Burning Man or Lake Tahoe are to tech bros, or Banff is to finance bros.
No shade. I would love to go to any of those places.
People joining tech today have no understanding of the glorious days of the Contoso and Fabrikham corporations and all the complexities around integrations between their back-office applications.
As an iPhone user, if you give me a phone with Google Maps, decent Camera, WhatsApp (Just because of my mom), Uber, Authy and some financial apps (negotiable) I will give it up for a dumb phone.
Or a veteran engineer who rolls up their sleeves and donβt let you leave before they get a PoC sorted for you.
You can tell a lot about how a software company doing by looking at their #DevRel folks. Is it a scripted, TikTok-style? Or is it by someone who is wearing suit, carrying business cards, and dropping corporate jargons every other sentence;
"And the most important lesson of all is that the hard part is rarely building and delivering the solution; the hard part is discovering the right solution to build."

The world is going through a lot right now, but this dog is doing just fine!
I think I deleted that long time ago. But I think the account is still available. Havenβt been there for a while. Itβs a zoo!
It took me 8 months but I finally uninstalled TikTok, Instagram, and this week YouTube from my phone. Still have the web version but thatβs not addictive as much as the native apps.
The amount of available headspace is pretty noticeable.

I wish good and active software devs with real world experiences had more presence on podcasts and events surrounding the impact of agentic AI on the industry.
Celebrity engineers, managers, or CEOs are very present with their opinions and there is a great chance of self-fulfilling prophecy here.
Inverse Agentic-AI effect: I'm reading more than ever to get a deep understanding of what the hell is going on behind the scenes of each framework or lib.
I need to keep an army of rogue agents who think they know a lot (but they are delusional) on track with my precise prompts.
I had the same experience and worked so hard because I had no other choice (had to convince an employer I worth the work visa). But if you have an option, moderation wins in mid to long term. Health and having fun are as important.

I had to explain the differences between efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity to myself and others so many times that I decided to document it for future reference:
