planning work should be done this year - sounded like construction should start/end in 2027
Sometimes i wish she’d get out of her own damn way. We’re all better off if people are reasonable and less ideological driven.
YAY! #yyjpoli - @davethompsonvic.bsky.social and @mattdellvictoria.bsky.social 's motion to prioritize the 'gap' in the Pandora street bike lanes to Oak bay junction and Shelbourne passed unanimously after Gardiners bid to defer failed.. (I bet we'll read about how awful this all is in the TC btw)
... Imagine being fired and replaced by a guy named "Markwayne"
lol Marg is unsurprisingly 'put out' by this (extremely supportable) Councillor Motion.
“We have defunded the Victoria AAA mobility network in to the densest network of protected on and off road infrastructure in North America.” would be a fun TC opinion piece to read.
Caradonna pointed out that even if the number of new patrol officers was cut by two, the department would still have added 20 officers in the last year. Coun. Marg Gardiner, who voted against the cut along with Alto and councillors Stephen Hammond and Chris Coleman, said it was going down the path of defunding the police. She said the challenges on the street are huge and “we need VicPD to do what they’re doing.” Thompson dismissed any suggestion that the move is about defunding police, noting the police budget has gone up by almost 40% during council’s term.
WE HAVE THE HIGHEST PER CAPITA POLICING COSTS IN B.C. the police budget increase is 5.06% of our 7.28% budget - how the fuck is that "going down the path of defunding the police" What. a. Tool. #yyj #yyjpoli (From here: www.timescolonist.com/local-news/v...)
I saw an actual VicPD Traffic stop this morning, in Victoria - whats even happening.
I'm also in the "Should've been PST" camp - but honestly i'll put up with it just to kill the time change.
news.gov.bc.ca/releases/202... - The NDP are only doing this to distract from the fact people wanted it and voted for it #bcpoli
Ahhh spring - when the weather is beautiful, the plants are happy, and i am a miserable allergic mess.
Hey. sorry to hear about your mental health problems, but it could be worse. You could be a convenient distraction for a group of pedophile billionaires and politicians.

Huge security nightmare, “dangerous” in that it’s as likely to wipe out all your emails as it is to organise them. Relies heavily on none curated user created plugins..
Everytime Gardiner talks about being silenced this is the clip i think of. #yyjpoli
it's always hilarious hearing Gardiner make these sort of statements when her first instinct is running to the TC if she isn't getting the sort of attention she thinks she deserves - She also prolifically wastes council times with endless individual motions. #yyj #yyjpoli bsky.app/profile/pent...
Fence Update - it's pressure treated cedar posts and chicken wire.
My immediate sarcastic response is: "If only there were police out there doing traffic enforcement" - More seriously though this is an excellent bill and it should go a long way to keeping our roads safe.
Fair - i guess the brambles were a better barrier than no barrier at all before remediation of that strip.
... why are they building a high fence after removing all that brush, potentially blocking views of the gorge north of the trestle?
How did they manage to get every flagger in the capital region that hates bicycles as a mode of transportation?
Why - given that they're directing all goose traffic down one narrow path - do they artificially tighten / place signs / place bollards ON the already narrow path?
A Map showing the.. actually pretty dumb choice to combine both bicycle and foot traffic down one narrow path, when multiple paths are available.
Questions i ask myself every morning as i navigate the #yyj goose trail closure: Why, given two narrow paths to direct traffic down, do they direct all traffic down /one/ narrow path?
“ i have no understanding of the technology i’m talking about or the implications of the situation i’m dreaming up but I occasionalu like to speed and turn right on red so lets do nothing. “ - Ben Holt probably
… Ok Boss - i heavily disagree that automated enforcement is a “threat” to anyone but bad drivers given the current state of that technology.
I'll point out from a purely technical standpoint - Red light and speed Cameras use photography and NOT video. they are generally not in a position to 'live monitor' or collect 'untriggered' images. - Also if you're posting this from your cellphone you're misidentifying the threat.
🤣🤣🤣 good riddance, sadly.
www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/23/n... - that headline tho #bcpoli
