Exciting news, real-time tracking is back online in Canberra! π
weβre in discussions with State Growth Tasmania to arrange access at the moment π€
Weβve added Manly Fast Ferry real-time tracking π been getting requests for this for a long time now!
@andrewbraddock.bsky.social has the question of real-time data for third party apps come up in the MyWay+ inquiry yet? we've been waiting months for a response from TCCS
Melbourne tram with a bee logo
πWhy do 5 #Melbourne trams have a bee logo? Because back in 2008 during a patronage surge, the government leased 5 surplus trams from Mulhouse in France. They were shipped over and put into service in their original yellow livery, for which they were nicknamed βBumblebeesβ.
great submission, well done π
Newcastle buses industrial action this afternoon visualised
well it was nice while it lasted
Nice to see buses back on the road in Brisbane this morning
these look like saved stops that didn't migrate to v3 properly - do they also appear in the app on your phone? if so, just swipe them horizontally to delete them
nice looking app they have in that picture
Sowing: Hell yeah, I'm in control of the damn R train baby!
Reaping: [10 minutes later, exhausted] "Let 'em off, people, let 'em off. Please do not hold the doors, there is another train just behind this one. Step in and stand clear, 28th Street, 28th Street is next."

Great peek at the 1930s era signalling still in use on New York's B, D, N, Q and R lines gothamist.com/news/driving...
tough day out there
if they gave us raw location only iβm sure we could do a better job than what theyβre doing currently
Incredible commitment to the bit from this bus driver in Brisbane (photo credit /u/StonerRockhound)
software should have maps
Timetable loaded, real-time feeds configured. L4 line ready to go from 05:00 tomorrow nextthere.com/route/au/syd...
A post to give some love to the 1970s branding on the Eastern Suburbs Line
Thereβs more too: dwell times, performance improvements, bug fixes. Find out all the details in our release notes docs.appjourney.au/nextthere/re...
App update time! NextThere 3.0.13 is here: the Christmas bus tracker is back (and in Brisbane this year now too!) and we have new detailed on-time running graphs that let you visualise an incident
they donβt even have it in their own app! bit of a head scratcher what the hold up is here, their vendor are experienced at producing real-time feeds
On demand buses are a waste of money, what a shock www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
V/Line 5m ago Coaches are replacing trains between [LOCATION A] and [LOCATION B] due to a [INSERT REASONI [at/near/between] [LOCATION]....
Well thatβs ruined my big night out at Location B.
would be nice to see a real-time data feed...
oh yep can see it left Arncliffe on time, then stopped at SM670 signal between Arncliffe and Wolli Creek between 08:23 and 08:29. suspect it probably got updated to +5min late at 08:29 once it moved to the next signal. will make some enquiries with the folks who manage that system
do you know which station/time/direction that was? we can replay train movements, can take a look what happened there
we prefer to be optimistic by giving you the earlier possible arrival time: better to wait a few minutes unsure than give a later estimate and risk missing it. but we could be clearer in our status message here whatβs going on than just saying βNext stopβ, weβll look at this
whatβs happening here is the driver has got to Clarence St, pulled over and turned off the tracker, so the location timestamp on the bus is frozen in time. itβs impossible to know whether itβs still there or continuing on with a broken tracker - thereβs lots of reasons a bus may intermittently track
