Heck, even Baltimore to NYC is 188 miles and takes 2.25-2.5 hours by rail, depending on if you take the Acela or slightly slower Northeast Regional. Driving - 3-4 hours depending on traffic.

London/Manchester, UK: approximately 200 miles via car, 2.25 hours via rail with no transfers. Driving - 3.5+ hours
Paris, France/Brussels, Belgium: approximately 190 miles via car, 1.5 hours via rail with no transfers. Driving - 3+ hours
This makes your 1 hour flight now 3+ hours if you factor in picking up bags at baggage claim.
