It is still a useful book when discussing "color blind" types of racism, which does still exist. But man. As a society, we've moved super fucking far from that place to camps of "we at least try to recognize it and address it" vs "yeah we love the racism actually"

As much as I respect Bonilla-Silva's "Racism Without Racists", every time I've tried getting through it in recent years, I can't look away from the outright "doors wide open" level of racism in US society we've seen. It unfortunately feels like a book out of time now with how bad it's gotten.
