if I lived in resident evil I would simply not go into the pitch black haunted hotel alone with exactly 2 ammo
Friday's beta branch patch is now live on the main branch for everyone (plus one or two more extra changes in there). Here's the full patch notes store.steampowered.com/news/app/686...
for the record, this is an engine I've been working on in some capacity since at least 2013, with 2 shipped projects using it and effectively continual development on it for the last 10 years.
my engine is not quite the same thing as ruffle though, ruffle is an emulator and values accuracy, whereas I would break a bunch of SWF rules to add new features in (such as interpolating to high framerates or making the gradients nicer). I make the movieclips accessible to use in a C++ game engine
Ruffle has links to mirrors / archived versions of adobe's previously public documentation github.com/ruffle-rs/ru...
SWF file format is(was) publicly documented. I just load & process those files at load time & convert them to meshes (not textures), along with the animation data and manage to have a very tiny subset of the AS3 VM implemented so I can get callbacks to C++ from actionscript
did you miss the part where i said it'd be better to have none of this?
not a lawyer so i may be misreading it though
"self report your age to the OS and this must be deemed as good enough by apps that require age verification" vs "send your information to palantir every time you log into discord"
not trying to defend it or anything since it'd be better if they'd all just fucking stop with this nonsense. but I can sorta see what the logic is for this one
it sorta sounds like the intent here is to get in front of the dumb way governments have started to demand every website and service individually require collecting personal information for age verification. from a quick read of the law, which is like 2 pages long
At some point I will do a twitch stream about tech and design stuff where people can ask questions. I think people are still discovering stuff about the game on their own currently, so it will be a few weeks. Also I'm quite busy at the moment with launch aftermath stuff
yeah but this isn't like "video game logic is weird if you think about it". Its literally a button that pops up and you see him do exactly that, without pausing the action lol
Leon pulling out a whole ass whetstone to sharpen his axe mid combat is so fucking funny in the most resident evil way possible
Resident Evil's plots are always funny to me. "We found a mysterious body. What could be the cause?" My dude you live in Resident Evil World. gee, what COULD POSSIBLY be the cause???
New build up on the BETA BRANCH of steam for testing. Please give it a try over the weekend! This one won't go live on the main branch until next week
Patch notes here ->

there is a concerted push from those 6 sites to prevent that from ever happening again
I feel like younger people don't realize that the internet wasn't always optimized solely to make you as angry and miserable as possible, and people are having a lot of nostalgia for 2000s internet vibes now because it wasn't like that back then
This ability exists solely because the name popped into my head and I thought "damn that sounds fucking sick as a name for an instakill ability"
unsolved math problems are fascinating to me because they're 50% incomprehensible nonsense that 2 or 3 people on the planet understand and 50% "prove that 2 + 2 equals 4, you cant"
on PC you can always just bind whatever you wanted to that through the options menu. On steam deck the keyboard options menu is hidden so that wasn't an option
Mewgenics 1.0.20695 patch notes
This is now live on the main branch for everyone
store.steampowered.com/news/app/686...
the fact that its been over a week and our playercounts are effectively unchanged is wild to me. This is a single player game...
yeah that branch seems like a bugged thing. its not in steamworks anywhere so I'm unsure why its showing up like that
New Mewgenics patch is available on a beta branch. Please check here for details!

it's obvious in retrospect, but we did spend some time trying to get the number lower but still be a guaranteed kill before figuring that out
fun little tidbit about the Mewgenics tutorial. First iteration of the tutorial had Pebbles' Boulder Drop do 50 damage. There was usually a visceral negative reaction to this, "that seems unfair".
Changing it to 999 fixed the problem entirely as that reads as "scripted death"
