I loved Metal Warriors! I wish I could have gotten more of my friends into it because 2-player mode was so fun. I didn't notice the LucasArts style at the time!
That game was hard and I heard that sad getting hit music so much it would play in my head when something bad happened at school
This is effectively what we put in Chromium's AI coding policy. "Authors must self-review and understand all code and documentation updates [...] before sending them for review". And we had to add some consequences after a wave of slop.

I keep thinking about this comment and about all of the games I've liked that might fall into category 2 and I'm wondering if I just liked them because gambling. And that maybe I'll get Air Riders to contrast now!
The DS was the first system I started using a "3 game rule" where I didn't buy it until there were 3 games I was really excited about. Those were Trauma Center, Ace Attorney, and Dawn of Sorrow. So many great games followed!
I bought mine after the price cut to $199 in mid '96 since I spent my own money also. My friends told me to just get Mario RPG (one final SNES game) but I wanted Resident Evil. Between trying to get the rocket launcher and going to the arcade for Street Fighter Alpha 2 it was a great summer.
