if there's a big issue with algorithms it's one of literacy. people don't really understand how they're interacting with things, and how that encourages these nebulous systems that are purposefully kept away from scrutiny. the facebook gen Xers here are a great example of that lacking literacy

I think we need to admit most people like algorithms. tiktok hit the masses like a truck because it had a stunningly good algorithm, and, if I'm being honest, twitter's algorithm (AND NOTIFICATION FILTERING) are what keep me there. I've gotten very used to the process of curating an algorithmic feed
