I know enough about science to know that even the notion of “probability” is mysterious. It’s certainly not “conclusive”. Furthermore, the unknown universe is far greater than the known universe. Not knowing is fine. Asserting knowledge where you have none is ignorance or… faith.
The only honest answer, likely for eternity, is “I don’t know”. Claiming there is no God in a definitive manner is just another form of “faith”. Claiming it doesn’t matter is also jumping to conclusions. How do you know it doesn’t matter? What about physics makes it the final frontier of cognition?

Trump is all transactional at all times. He is selling out to seemingly conflicted interests but managing to unify them against a common enemy: Liberal Democracy as defined by the US Constitution. That Trump has no allegiance to any of it actually helps in the short-run.

I think people have been worked into such a frenzy that they feel the ends justify the means and those of us who are concerned are whiny lil babies. As for the end that they support, it’s some type of Isolationist John Wayne caricature combined with a Triumph of the Will aesthetic.
What is an example of how it has been reigned in? I see news stories about tense meetings but no fundamental change in the pace of firings or agency dismantling.
