Snowy night in Oslo: person runs across tram tracks under streetlights, with a glowing ring above the square. The images is out of focus, but not so much that the scene is not visible.
I missed focus, but I still like it.

A few of the photos. Now I need to test out Photoshops super upscaler, or what it is called
Cool! I found my old account on Rangefinderforum from back in the mid00s. Back then I almost exclusively shot range finders and Kodak Tri-X 400. All of of these negatives were stolen when I moved to Oslo in 2010.

Color photo of a snowy city street on a clear winter day. A hooded crow perches on the edge of a small white kiosk in the foreground. People in winter coats stand nearby, and modern buildings line the street under a bright blue sky.
Color photo of a ferry approaching a dock on calm winter water. A hooded crow sits on a metal railing in the foreground. Passengers stand on the ferry’s deck, and a historic brick building and harbour structures are visible in the distance.
Humans = chance of food.

Black-and-white night photo of a small tree standing in snow. The trunk and bare branches are lit by flash against a dark background. A frying pan lies on the snow near the base of the tree, creating a quiet, slightly surreal scene.
Sometimes I wonder what people are up to when they're outside, and in the real world.

Perfect!
Black-and-white photo inside a tram or light rail carriage. An elderly person wearing a patterned winter hat sits relaxed in a wooden rocking chair placed in the aisle, one leg crossed. Other passengers sit nearby, including a person with skis and a large backpack. The scene feels quietly surreal within an everyday public transport setting.
The most Norwegian photo I ever captured.

Color photo of several hands taping posters to a metal pole at night. The posters advertise the Oslo Street Photo Festival with images, dates, and text. The hands overlap as they smooth the paper into place, with city lights and stickers visible on the pole in the background.
How many street photographers does it take to hang a poster?

I just posted some photos from my trip to Saigon/Ho Chi Min and Hanoi, and with a short text on my thoughts on why I only used one lens for the whole trip: www.sivertalmvik.no/blog/street-...

Black-and-white photo of two men standing indoors, each holding up a printed poster for the Oslo Street Photo Festival. The posters show a street photography image, dates, and a QR code. The men face the camera in a casual bar-like setting.
Black-and-white photo of people seated at a long table in a bar. A woman in the foreground smiles directly at the camera. Next to her, a man wearing glasses leans in and flashes a peace sign. Other guests sit and talk in the background.
Black-and-white photo of a man seated indoors, holding a camera up to his face as he takes a picture. He wears a blazer and T-shirt, with the camera strap hanging down. A dark wall and a graphic mural form the background, giving the scene a casual, intimate atmosphere.
Black-and-white portrait of a bearded man wearing a knit beanie and a light sweater, smiling at the camera. The background shows a dark bar interior with hanging lights and blurred figures.
From yesterday's launch party for the third Oslo Street Photo Festival. Interested in street photography? Then come to Oslo on the 5-7. June!

Black-and-white photo taken from ground level, looking up at a modern building façade with rows of square windows. Bare tree branches stretch across the top of the frame against a bright, overexposed sky, creating a stark contrast between rigid architecture and organic lines.
High-contrast black-and-white photo of a large, leafless tree seen from below. The dark trunk rises centrally, with a dense web of twisting branches spreading outward against a bright white sky, forming an intricate, almost abstract pattern.
Messing around with kitchy black and white images to test the grain feature on my Nikon Zf

We at Oslo SPC held our second annual general meeting as an association. Here are a few pictures I took of those who turned up.
I spent three weeks traveling in South East Asia with one camera, and two lenses. Used only one lens. Here are some street photos I took in Bangkok, Thailand: www.sivertalmvik.no/blog/street-...

Gikk OK.
Last Saturday I took pictures of people bashing and stabbing each other with longswords: www.sivertalmvik.no/blog/hema-in...

Two fighters in full HEMA protective gear clash with longswords in a sports hall, their blades meeting above their heads. Several spectators in armour watch from the background.
ALT text: Two HEMA practitioners wearing padded jackets and arm protection bump fists after a bout, while others in the hall talk and rest in the background.
Two armoured HEMA fencers stand ready with longswords while two people in the foreground talk. The two fencers look toward the camera, one wearing a fencing mask.
A woman in full HEMA gear stands with hands on hips next to a woman seated on her knees, while two medical assistance sit at a table behind them in a wooden-panelled sports hall.
I shot 1168 images in three hours of people fighting with longswords today. Going back tomorrow. Need to slow down. It was fun! Shot with manual focus lenses. It was hard, but I got the handle of it pretty quick.

Two people in wetsuits are standing on floating docks in a harbour under construction, surrounded by cranes and new apartment buildings. In the background, autumn trees and Akershus Fortress can be seen on the hill under a grey sky.

I just posted a video in my serie «Photographers of Oslo». This time it is about Nicolas Levy and his photo project on Bygdøyfergene (the Bygdøy ferries) in Oslo, Norway

Nicolas Levy explains why he doesn’t shoot in hiding—he’s there with the person, sharing the moment, building the photograph together.
Part of my ongoing project «Photographers of Oslo». The full video with Nicolas Levy will be out soon on YouTube!

Every time I use an LLM, I always say «thank you» and «please» when interacting with it – like it is a human being.
Last sunday here in Oslo, Tamima Nibras Juhar was murdered by a far right activist. Today people gathered to remember her and take a stance against racism and violence, and the far right.
