If you're on a #Debian based #Linux distro with #GitLab then this is your simple get out of jail card:

sudo apt -y --allow-downgrades install gitlab-runner=18.5.0-1

Then you can make a file at /etc/apt/preferences.d/gitlab-runner and put this in it:
