The little mermaid holding a jeweled dagger as a shadowy sea witch tilts her face up to steal her voice. Tentacles swirling around them, wrapping around a statue of a prince. Two black eels snarl as they close in on the mermaid. Skulls litter the lair. Schools of fish swim through the shadows.

A shadowy Bluebeard in the dark while the last wife runs to safely with a lantern and sword in hand.

Titled Bluebeard's Last Wife, this piece is a homage to my love for dark folklore 🌹 It's been like over a year since I've rendered a complete personal illustration and I feel fulfilled. Hoping to do some more pieces like this for my portfolio since the tariffs have basically halted my launches.

A yukionna, or snow woman, breathing in the life of a young man as snow falls around them

The Furutsubaki-no-rei, a yokai that resides inside camellia trees, appears as a woman within a camellia tree. Her neck is subtly severed because camellia flowers die by dropping all the petals at once, like a severed head cut by a sword.

A hone-onna, or a bone woman, carries a lotus lantern. Where the light touches is a beautiful woman, and where there is shadow, is the bones of her skeleton.

The hari-onna, or harionago, is a woman with barbed hair. She is dashing forward with clawed hands out of the mist as bright red blood coats her sharp strands.

A little deviation from my usual colorful art - some Japanese Horror pieces I did for Katsucon badges this year!
