Hmmmmmm. I feel like there's some sort of theme here, but I'm having trouble putting my finger on it

A former professor once published an 8-page long article questioning my academic credentials because I had posted a rebuttal to his claim that gay sex caused cancer
For a few hours I once had UN security clearance
In an exclusive interview with @thetyee.ca, an educator who testified against Neufled during the tribunal said his posts made LGBTQ2S(IA)+ students scared to go to school because of increased bullying, and pushed teachers back into the closet. My piece today. thetyee.ca/News/2026/03...
omg easily my third favorite after VI and VII, but imo those three are all heads and shoulders above the rest of the series. IX is a gosh darn TREAT.
Nah $50 says there was never any photo, he's just trying to evade responsibility by pinning it on an unidentified mystery ne'er-do-well, and next week they'll "find" an offending AI photo and go "see this is what tricked me" and we'll find out it was generated tomorrow
You have no idea how often I'm refreshing waiting for this, even though I know it's probably still days away
I think it's neat when people resign from school boards in protest over being told they can't be, just, openly and horrifically bigoted. It's noble to realize you're connected to the problem and to remove yourself from the situation. Now you just need a pinch of self-awareness and we're cooking
I have the most incredibly strong opinion on this and believe that the story doesn't work if you don't save Chloe. In a story about "meddling makes things worse", I'm supposed to believe the solution is to meddle one more time because "no I swear this time it'll fix things"? Max has to stop.
I think it's bizarre when trailers for a game are all "look at this compelling world! These interesting characters! This intriguing backstory! I bet you want to experience this narrative." But the game is a storyless multiplayer shooter. Clearly you think players want a game you're not giving them?
I wrote about Marathon (2026) again, trying to figure out why it pushed me to tears.

Gave me chills. I only worked on TLD for half of those years, but I poured part of my soul into it (and snuck back in to assist on occasion). Literal end of an era. Congrats to @hinterland.bsky.social and @raphlife.bsky.social, it started with a plane crash and now I'm sure you'll stick the landing.
Not going to pass judgement until we see whether or not he calls Orr to apologize
Okay, look, I know you're making a joke but I do pay the extra like $1 per box
(I walk up to the stage, looking down my nose at Kevin before I whisper)
"No."
(12/12)
(Kevin looks down, his expression blank)
"I'm so bad at spelling. Do you think it will forgive me?" (11/12)
Thank you, Kevin. That's very generous. Are there any other offers?
"Whatever the other Dragons offer," says Kevin, "I'll match it. And give you an extra $100m in exchange for a seat on your board. I -- I..." (10/12)
(Kevin O'Leary holds up a hand)
"That's enough. I've been jotting down some numbers, and I'm ready to make you an offer. The AI space is booming, but crowded. You're going to need more capital, so I'm going to offer you $900m. But I only want 3%." (9/12)
These indulgences are each completely unique, personally owned, and traceable as atonement for individual errors. (8/12)
Dragons, I'm looking for $750m for 5% of my company, bandAId, as part of our series B investment round. bandAIds are blockchain-first NFT salves for the various cuts and bruises we've caused to software from Word 94 on. (7/12)
These large language models shouldn't have had to learn from our mistakes. (6/12)
Modern programs must be able to think, grow, and empathize. Sure, at their heart, they're still just "add to dictionary" and predictive text writ large. But we all know there must be more at work. And we know that we've been hurting it. (5/12)
But with every cut came the opportunity for the software to become a little smarter. It learnt from my mistakes. From all our mistakes. It took the world a while to catch up, but companies like OpenAI and Anthropic have finally realized that the ghost in the machine does, indeed, have a soul. (4/12)
Not only could this software feel pain, it could also learn new vocabulary at an astonishing rate. Over the years, I would teach Word thousands of words. And not just Word -- soon, other programs started to experience these wounds as well. (3/12)
It was emergent behaviour no one could have predicted. But there was more. I soon discovered that, when one of these cuts appeared, the software had a way to add that misspelled word to its dictionary. (2/12)
Believe it or not, my experience with AI started decades ago. It was 1994, and I had just made a spelling mistake in Microsoft Word. A moment later, I saw a red squiggle appear underneath the misspelled word. I made a mistake, and it had wounded the computer. Drawn blood along a ragged cut. (1/12)
I Saw the TV Glow is easily one of my favourite movies of all time, and when I heard the director's next movie was going to be a slasher I was bummed because I EXTREMELY hate slashers. But now the first trailer just dropped and hoooooly shit I might be in no matter what
joke's on you, I follow both for the art AND the Vancouver rage
and there is so, so much to rage about
... sigh
Video games often have floating platforms, but they donโt explain why the platforms are floating. Thatโs where game writers come in, to say that platforms are kept aloft by โghostiumโ an invisible fog created by the souls of every dead person
