I don't check this app very often, but I do wanna post my 2025 retrospective here for posterity. Humbled to look back on it as the most rewarding year of my professional life. Between a stellar HHN, helping open UHU, and finally getting to work on a [REDACTED], it's a year that'll be hard to beat.
The single most difficult secret I’ve had to keep in my professional life. I am a *massive* Fallout fan and still have to pinch myself sometimes that I’m lucky enough to working on something Fallout-related. Absolutely bouncing off the walls for this one. ☢️
Got a notification that I wrote this reply in a thread about my basement tiki bar exactly 4 years ago. Life can be funny. But in retrospect it's insane.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love tiki, so this was a treat. Since we have an additional Vol design playing alongside the original, on a technicality, I'm gonna put a feather in my cap saying that I was able to design a theme park character.
Vol may not be speaking directly to guests for the moment, but I was proud to at least have him continue to tell the story of the Waturi in animated form to passing guests in the meantime. It also provided an opportunity to design an additional "Elder" Vol character.
fast and furious: superchuffed
Being snarky online is easy af. Working on a project and seeing it to completion is way harder.
Never forget: The amount of effort and things that have to go right just for something to even open, let alone be *good*, is astronomical. Themed entertainment is a miracle, and the people who put it together are the coolest people on Earth. No matter the project size.
Me panicking after my name was called on the Zoom meeting but I wasn't paying attention
"Yeah yeah I'd love to make short form content of Figment"
They have the resume to back it up and in some ways have earned the right to talk, but are so far removed from doing the job that they're not factoring in new limitations. This ain't the 90s anymore.
Maybe a hot take but I think the old guard constantly shitting on the new gen of themed ent. designers on certain social sites kinda sucks. There are limitations now that did not exist in the "good old days". For better and for worse.
6 full hours at Epic later and I have never been prouder or felt luckier to work in themed entertainment. The future of our industry is bright. I really, REALLY did not want to leave today. Believe the hype.

Welcome to the collection, Park Starz RX-24.
Henry is so insanely good at this and it's insane nobody has picked him up full-time to do it for them yet. Glowing recommendation from me.
Is this real?
kansas city CHEEKS
I want every Chiefs fan who visits Worlds of Fun to know the guy who helped re-design their Panda mascot absolutely hates their football team
I've had an idea stewing in my brain for an alternative stretching room show moment that physically removes the hanging body but keeps the spirit of the scene through some tech upgrades. Thinking about mocking it up in my very little spare time.

If you have friends who didn't use TikTok they'll be sure to tell you about it today
Extraordinarily true. The coolest jobs and gigs I've gotten have been a direct result of the friends I've made who do this stuff. And that's speaking as someone who generally *hates* and *sucks* at networking.
Everything is somebody's favorite something.
Sometimes we all just need to shut up.
