New post: 0055 - what keeps me coming back
Thinking about why I've been writing so much lately, and why do I keep doing it.

We have "cold tea". But what do you call hot chocolate after putting it in the fridge? "cold hot-chocolate" or just "chocolate"?

New post :) 0054 - the effects of a cold shower
Experimenting with cold water. Turns out it IS an excellent way to get over the morning slump.

New post: 0053 - how do I know if you're human
Thinking about how to avoid detecting bots in my analytics service and musing on the proper use of the 'kudos" button.

New post: 0052 - (idea) tip creators by watching an ad
What if instead of asking readers for money, you let them watch a 30-second ad to tip you?

β¦I've actually been writing a lot lately but haven't been posting about it here. Maybe this is me restarting that practice?
A rabbit in overalls and a goat in pants are sitting on the ground drawing pictures. The rabbit is saying βART POSES A THREAT TO CORPORATOLRATIC SYSTEMS BECAUSE A PURPOSE OF ART IS TO REMIND THE INDIVIDUAL OF THEIR INHERENT AUTONOMY.β, the goat adds βTHEIR HUMANITY.β
Make Art (1/4)
In the end of it all, the actual creative output doesn't matter, it's just a receipt. What matters is that as you create you ARE the art.
Cool framing from Brandon Sandreson about the role AI plays in art, and why it feels off https://youtu.be/mb3uK-_QkOo
Oh cool! I briefly joined the stream yesterday as you were working on this. Turned out great!
Starting to bring all my tools back online! Also did a short post about this if you're interested:

Graphic saying 'The democratization of art does not come from a billionaire's machine' with a pencil centred in the middle over the text
Sitting a stewing in frustration isn't nearly as cathartic as just designing a poster. Let's see how often I remember that in 2026.
So RAM and GPU prices are going up, huh...
I wonder what gamedevs should focus on to feel innovative without requiring more powerful hardware.
Maybe more interactivity with the game world and doing more segmenting and culling for lighter resource usage?

Happy holidays! Thanks for all your streams, I'm always inspired to work on cool stuff whenever I watch them :)

What was a policeman, if not a civilian with a uniform and a badge? But they tended to use the term these days as a way of describing people who were not policemen. It was a dangerous habit: once policemen stopped being civilians the only other thing they could be was soldiers.

If you're embedding the guestbook using the JS approach then you'll need to add custom CSS to have the replies look ok. You can check this for more info codeberg.org/meadowingc/g...
I just pushed an initial implementation of the reply functionality, if you want to try it out :) it only allows replies from the guestbook owner (I thought allowing everyone to reply might add too much noise)
