Tram stop "Binningen Schloss" on Basel lines 10/17 next to a roadway with railing and glass temporarily removed so replacement buses can stop there
why plan/build a platform for your replacement bus somewhere, when you can just unscrew the tram stop fence and put a bus sign there
crossroad of Viaduktstrasse and Margarethenstrasse
this crossroads was a bit scary tbh, cars, trams and bikes going from everywhere to almost anywhere else and no lights or anything! but apparently it works

The country of electric narrow-gauge railways, running frequently from early morning to late at night: France ๐ซ๐ท
(or at least this French town that happens to be on Basel line 10)

Bummer I'm going Monday :D

Hรถchste Zeit!
I would watch 5 hours of this ๐
Absolutely beautiful out this evening
Just learned we'll have a presidential election next February.
I always find our presidential election system a bit crazy, it's the federal and MPs and other politicians, and then some random celebrities, CEOs, unionists etc. appointed by the state parliaments ๐ณ
And it's only four other state elections this year ๐ฅด
broadly a good result so far, only I would have liked Die Linke in the Landtag as well ๐ I'll be curious who will be our next Green transport minister - Winfried Hermann said he doesn't want to be again
How so?
what that looks like: Tube set in a German station bsky.app/profile/simo...
I voted โ
does a train service once a year on a predictable day (always Good Friday) count as a regular train service? ๐
that would be crazy tho, who'd want to live next to the station??

I like our Karlsruhe IKEA, it does have parking but it's all on the roof and it's right next to the tram stop
The sentence at the end of the quote goes on "But in Dubai, you can, often at salaries that exceed Europeโs."
Current rail infrastructure in Flensburg with the loopy station on the main line to Denmark (with a cut-off at Weiche) and the branch line to Kiel

From 2019 to 2024, the Freiburg S-Bahn line up to the Black Forest (Titisee/Neustadt) was every 20 mins on Sundays mainly for bikers/hikers, but every 30 mins every other day. Now it's been reduced to 30' every day, but there are some supplementary excursion trains similar to elsewhere in the state
Gifts from the US Supreme Court (a wooden box with a US constitution) and the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Belgium (a glass engraved with the building that court sits in)
Gift from the Supreme Court of Canada: a glass with two polar bears on it
Gift from the Conditional Court of the Republic of Mali which is a miniature version of a traditional porte/door from Timbuktu
Of course, the US gifts a copy of their constitution. Others were more original, like these polar bears from Canada or a traditional Timbuktu door from Mali

Das Laden Ihrer BahnCard hat leider nicht geklappt. Bitte versuchen Sie es noch einmal.
Why is the most difficult thing to transfer from my old to my new phone not the bank apps, not various 2FAs, but my fucking Bahncard ๐ซฉ๐ซฉ๐ซฉ
Hmm, the whole election campaign made me feel "meh" at best, no option really excites me. I do hope that Greens manage to keep transport ministry so service cuts will be as low as possible. I guess if the polls in the past days turn out to be true, Greens might beat CDU which would be a nice signal
