When we used MM Comfort Systems for our HVAC install and maintenance, we had system failures about a month after every service visit for routine maintenance and inspection.
Switched to a different company, and never had a failure again.
A painting of a bird next to the words "forgive me for wondering why the fuck you're still here"
Idea: a #nuget metadata property that allows IDEs to hit a URL to get RAG data for 1 specific package, so all AI assistants out there have better knowledge about a package/lib. #dotnet
Me: “C’mon, Spotify, play some music I’ve not heard! There are millions of songs out there.”
Spotify: “Okay, here’s some music you haven’t heard.”
Me: “Oh, that’s terrible. Skip. Terrible. Skip. Terrible. Skip. Terrible. Skip.”
Spotify: “All right, here are some of your favorites.”
Someone had way too much of a budget for these trash cans.
Yes, those are 3 separate displays, each running a React App in Chromium served from localhost. They show looping animations of what goes in each bin.
It’s gonna be awhile before I accuse myself of over-engineering something again.

“Now, who gets the deer, me or the dog?”
I picked up a dog crate in preparation for taking our lab on a flight. It’s been years since he was in a crate, and he is loving it. He’s been in it from the minute I got it inside and he is choosing to sleep in it instead of his bed.
That's what I chose to do too. But it was weighing on me.
Good suggestion! That makes me think differently about calling. "I just passed a family on the road that might benefit from free car seats for their children," as opposed to, "I just saw a family driving with kids unbuckled in the car! They seem down and out; let's make life worse for them!"
I thought about calling in to report them, but decided against it.
I was conflicted the other day. Curious what others would do.
At a light in town next to a 2000s minivan with temp tags. Back window is busted out and covered in a trash bag. Mom driving, Dad in front seat bouncing an infant on his lap. 4-year-old walking around in the back. All happy and laughing.

screenshot of the Octopus Watch app which has a line graph with the half-hourly per-kWh prices over the next 24 hours. the vertical axis goes from -5p at the bottom to 85p at the top, and there’s a very expensive section where the line just spills out over the top edge and overlaps the graph title
Tomorrow evening our electricity prices are hitting £1/kWh, which is so expensive that apparently the designer of this app never foresaw that
the Meta logo except it says "Maga" and the infinity brandmark is red

What's the longest you think you've gone putting your headphones on at your desk and forgetting to start music?

And account for the randomized amount of give that the wire will have, and don’t forget that the angle of the nail affects the sawtooth hangers, and then remember the drywall demons will disturb your drill bit, but there are always Command Strips and beer.
I… enjoy? building IKEA furniture, I think.
Happy to help.
Even if you don’t get to relax, I still recommend the extra hugs. Moments like that can stick with ya for a while.
Sometimes there's a glitch and you can see the matrix.
A few hours after reading this paragraph in Neal Stephenson's Polostan, I was behind this truck on I35.
I mean, srsly, who gets that as a bumper sticker??
Oh gosh; that’s scary and I’m sure painful. I’m glad the injury wasn’t as bad as feared. I hope you’re able to get some extra hugs and relaxation.
