I'm really sorry for your loss, and for everything that's going on. It sounds like a lot.
My "things PJW has done as a bit" counter broke at least a decade ago
It's a lot of work, especially if you're hauling camping gear!
You can get all the way up to Harrington Beach State Park from the Oak Leaf to the Interurban. We did a bike camping trip a bunch of years ago. It was a great time but I'm too old and fat for that ride these days.
I wrote about my #ADHD diagnosis (and mental health) and how it changed my relationship with gaming for the first time since I got diagnosed 4 years ago, for @mothership.blog

let me know if you're not able to dig 'em up and i'll resend. i found a few others in my email as well.
hey @jayisforgenius.bsky.social I found a bunch of Borg Ward fliers by searching my email. They were in an email I sent to you a couple years ago ๐
It would be about a 1.5 hour ride which is about the most I would expect someone to bike to a show without thinking they're insane
I'm inclined to agree with this, though this is purely vibes-based. For a slightly more concrete approach, we could ask "can someone reasonably bike there from Milwaukee?" and the Zip Line of the Oak Leaf trail connects directly to the Ozaukee Interurban Trail just south of Mequon
just look, better not touch
Every time I start up a YouTube video tbh
yeah it is bad writing
the abstract of one paper which has since been mostly debunked
my non-nuanced hot take is that "fiction first" doesn't actually mean anything
The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Come Ripe and in the Darkness of That Which is Golden Shall Split Open to Reveal the Revelation of the Fatal Softness in the Earth More Than Ropes Will Ever Do
Gosh.
Oh no.
Anyway, like I said, I was shocked at how easy it was for me, a world wide web surfer and occasional electronic mailer, to install and use Linux on my day-to-day personal computer.
this is rad as hell and you should back it! honestly even if you don't play slugblaster the stuff in here is very very cool
this week's post makes the claim that all genuine revolutions are built on the same foundation: local councils that network or federate together to build a larger society.

It's funny that you and @ickbat.bsky.social are the first two people to like this because I was listening to your playthrough of Chiron's Doom this morning when I realized I had this important statement to share
All I have to say about that is where lies the strangling fruit that came from the hand of the sinner I shall bring forth the seeds of the dead to share with the worms that gather in the darkness and surround the world with the power of their lives while from the dimlit halls of other places forms t
(and primed me for all the other revelations and evocative provocations that were to come when I finally sat down and read Apocalypse World)
Paraphrasing @lumpley.bsky.social, to pose a question and not trample on the answers. What does it mean for a "map" to be a question? Or to answer one question and imply a dozen more? For me, that's where the juice of roleplaying is, and that single piece of advice revealed it to me.
Applying it broadly to prep rather than just maps, it elaborated on "play to find out" in a way that felt very tangible and actionable. Applying it to game design, it guided my approach to building a setting and underlined the importance of the fruitful void.
Listening to @diceexploder.com and it's helped me realize that "draw maps, leave blanks" is maybe the single most formative piece of advice I took and ran with as I was adjusting to PbtA and indie RPGs from D&D.
Fascinating list. I didn't participate, but there would have been some overlap in my own choices if I had. Shout out to Laura Palmer the patron saint of trans women with a film problem
If I play armchair psychologist, our fondness for Laura Palmer is rooted in feelings of a disrupted adolescence and being perceived as one thing, and being another. There is also the ambient threat towards expressions of femininity in his work that I think we feel at an exposed & visceral level
Two things can be true
