LOVE how much having a manager who was checked out for months, if not longer, before stepping down is now making my job harder in a billion tiny ways. :)))

Loooove having to have a not-infrequent amount of βwell, Former Manager always gives me [discount I shouldnβt have ever been getting]β interactions with clients now that we have a new manager. π
The most helpful any everyday technology has ever been is GMail's "You wrote 'Attached is' but no files are attached." reminder and I don't need any tech to be more intelligent than that.

A screenshot from an article featuring a photo of a stone carved artwork, showing ancient writing and depicting the Goddess Inanna. The Goddess has wings, she holds a scepter in one hand and has one leg bent and resting on a lion's back. The text reads "of people living outside the gender binary in ancient Mesopotamia. The words of Enheduanna, Inannaβs High Priestess in the city of Ur in the 23rd Century BCE, attest to this. In her Passionate Inanna she writes: βTo destroy, to create, to tear out, to establish are yours, Inanna. / To turn a man into a woman and a woman into a man are yours, Inanna.β (115-131). The exact meanings of the original Sumerian cannot be known for sure; the passage could instead relate simply to gender stereotypes, but this is not the only instance of ancient references to people living outside the gender binary. "
A screenshot from an article, the text reads "In Sumerian times, priests for Inanna known as the gala were said to have been created by the god Enki to sing laments for her, one of their central roles in her temple. From the beginning of the Old Babylonian Period, their role was heavily expanded, and mourning rites originally sung by women replaced over time by members of the gala. Men who joined the priesthood in devotion for Inanna became women for all intents and purposes, adopting female names and singing in the Sumerian eme-sal dialect, reserved for feminine speakers to render the speech of female gods. The gala were heavily involved in her temples, performing elegies and lamentations, presiding over religious rites and healed and looked after the sick and poor. They were respected members of the community, closely related"

we told everyone this but some people named "jesse singal" and other idiots were like "we're going to pretend to be shocked when it happens later thanks" i hope they eat glass and live
Woo!
REALLY excellent article
I work at a corporate-owned veterinarian clinic and the amount of corporate-mandated bullshit Iβm made to enact upon our clients makes me want to yeet myself into traffic regularly.
A heart-shaped leaf potted in a tiny pot of soil being held up.
Added this lilβ hoya heart to the houseplant collection this weekend.
Non-game question: do you have a fave houseplant? π
hey, who shot him? why doesnβt your headline make that clear? seems like important information.
I just finished it for the first time recently and it made me even more excited to dive back into the whole series again!
Uuuuuuuuuugh
Saaame. He comes across as such a force of nature on his own. And for all the (by necessity) reused assets, Kirkwall remains one of my favorite locations in the whole series. The whole city just has such a distinct feel to me.
Happy international women's day to all my fellow nonbingos who go to work and get misgendered all day bc it's not worth the effort to explain gender to your 65yo coworkers

Sure!
Yeah, and the smaller story makes it feel more personal and hit harder for me in some ways. I love how Hawkeβs whole life is just tragedy after tragedy. π
I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I enjoy the whole series, but 2 was the first I ever played (lol), and I think has some of my favorite characters/character writing in the whole series.
Honorable mentions: Okami, Resident Evil 7, Dragon Age as a whole lol, Disco Elysium, Oxenfree, Baldurβs Gate 3, Hellblade: Senuaβs Sacrifice, Firewatch
The covers for the following games, left to right: Kentucky Route Zero, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Dead Space, Stardew Valley, Dragon Age 2, Cult of the Lamb, Resident Evil: Village
A couple of these rotate in and out, but this is probably the closest to a top nine I presently have.
Okami is also a forever favorite of mine.
Iβm a dog owner who works at a vet clinic and I would like to physically fight a too-high percentage of dog owners for how absurdly irresponsible and generally shit they are.
I just had a client ask me to help them commit insurance fraud, howβs your day going?
Thereβs already one other femme member of staff who refuses to deal with him just because heβs such an asshole. Iβm hoping with our new manager, heβs on his way to being fired as a client, which he frankly should have been long ago.
Good from yesterday: when I told our new manager, she immediately went βOH MY GODβ, said she was sorry that had happened, told me to both document the comment in his file and leave a very obvious note on it that sheβs given me permission to never interact with him again. ππ»ππΌ
