Artist Thaddeus Mosley standing in front of his large wood sculptures while holding chiseling tools
1Hood Media reporting on Threads that artist Thaddeus Mosley passed yesterday at age 99. This man was a seemingly ageless legend. Worked at his gorgeous art even at age 99. What a loss, but what a life. π€π

Pittsburgh, hang out in Homestead more. I was sad to see Dorothy 6 close. Had food and drinks with my pals @woy.lol and @jimlokay.com at Eighth & Hays. Their food is awesome and this mezcal drink is one of my faves. Plus you get a little show with it. Not an ad!

Pittsburgh. Hear me. Go outside and look up. Find the moon. Jupiter is blazing beneath it. Two stars near Jupiter are the twins Pollux and Castor of Gemini. Further down, that crazy bright diamond is Sirius. Look up to the right. Thatβs Orion with his belt pointing to Sirius. Perfect night.

Bill Mazeroski. What a legacy. What a life. What a moment in time as that ball sailed away. I hope heβs somewhere on a field of dreams having a game of catch with Roberto. π€π

Black Medics, Ahead of Their Time, Gain Belated Recognition
βFor training..sought the advice of Dr. Peter Safar, an anesthesiologist at the Univ of Pittsburgh. Already famous for having developed CPR, Dr. Safar had been preaching the importance of rendering emergency medical care to patients before they reached the hospitalβ

Noticed a young woman with special needs waving goodbye to a photo of Fred Rogers in the elevator at Heinz History Center. I asked her if she enjoyed his exhibit. She said she took 102 pictures of it because she loves him. Then I walked outside and saw this. So, a good day in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. ππ€

Ooooh. Good to know. I wouldnβt mind the heft if it saves me from having to grab the whole telescope when I just want to take a quicker look at things. Thanks!

Pittsburgh, itβs a rare night. Crystal clear skies, no moon and itβs not bitter cold. The sky is stunning, especially Jupiter, Orion and Sirius. Jupiter is in Gemini, so itβs right next to the twin stars. Go take a peek!

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art has a new immersive experience that tells the story of Pittsburgh by dropping you right into paintings of the city since the early 1800s. It is one of most beautiful museum experiences Iβve ever seen. It grabbed my breath. The museum is free. Not an ad.

We generally read the very broad category of book club fiction but there has honestly been no book in the last three years that we all loved. At best we get to "it wasn't bad" or "I liked it." And we generally dislike our book picks more than we like them. We're the worst (but also the best haha)

I hate when it's my turn to pick a bookclub book because I only read non-fiction history books while we generally read fiction. Please help me by recommending outstanding fiction you've recently read that would spark discussion. If you're in a bookclub, what have you read recently that was good?

Today in like one block on the North Side, it was folding chair, bar stool, dining room chair, folding chair, baby gate, bar stool, step stool, folding chair. Championship snow behavior. No notes.

Can someone explain to me why the Post-Gazette has zero coverage of the Oakmont dad detained and still imprisoned by ICE despite having a valid work visa, Real ID, SSN, driverβs license and no criminal record? Kudos to the Trib for their ongoing coverage.
