Today I learned that George A. Romero had an uncredited cameo in The Silence of the Lambs. His scene was filmed at Soldiers & Sailors in Oakland.
If it's something you're for real trying to do, the best advice my editor ever gave me when I had to cut 70 pages out of my novel was to not delete anything. Instead, cut and paste into a new document so you don't feel like you're destroying your words and they're still there if you need them.
A stunningly gorgeous day to work on building Allegheny Cemetery walking tours to the graves of famous Pittsburghers π€π
Artist Thaddeus Mosley standing in front of his large wood sculptures while holding chiseling tools
1Hood Media reporting on Threads that artist Thaddeus Mosley passed yesterday at age 99. This man was a seemingly ageless legend. Worked at his gorgeous art even at age 99. What a loss, but what a life. π€π
On second look, it still doesn't seem like a match ...
Yeah, I checked that, but I couldn't match up the photos. I'll look again more closely
Pittsburgh, does anyone recognize this bar in Wonβt Back Down or is this a set built at a sound stage?
Indeed! Iβm so excited to see it
Loved the food and vibe there!
Pittsburgh, hang out in Homestead more. I was sad to see Dorothy 6 close. Had food and drinks with my pals @woy.lol and @jimlokay.com at Eighth & Hays. Their food is awesome and this mezcal drink is one of my faves. Plus you get a little show with it. Not an ad!
I know we had a few drinks but is this English Mike
Pittsburgh. Hear me. Go outside and look up. Find the moon. Jupiter is blazing beneath it. Two stars near Jupiter are the twins Pollux and Castor of Gemini. Further down, that crazy bright diamond is Sirius. Look up to the right. Thatβs Orion with his belt pointing to Sirius. Perfect night.
Good afternoon to Sidney Crosby and only Sidney Crosby for never once disappointing me even for a single moment.
Bill Mazeroski. What a legacy. What a life. What a moment in time as that ball sailed away. I hope heβs somewhere on a field of dreams having a game of catch with Roberto. π€π
I'll never understand why Christians such as these choose the state of mind that their God has "chosen" their child to suffer and be paralyzed and they will simply await a miracle. Why do they not instead ask if the creation of the vaccine WAS the miracle? www.the-independent.com/news/health/...
βFor training..sought the advice of Dr. Peter Safar, an anesthesiologist at the Univ of Pittsburgh. Already famous for having developed CPR, Dr. Safar had been preaching the importance of rendering emergency medical care to patients before they reached the hospitalβ

I bet it rhymes with Mittsburgh Porterly
Noticed a young woman with special needs waving goodbye to a photo of Fred Rogers in the elevator at Heinz History Center. I asked her if she enjoyed his exhibit. She said she took 102 pictures of it because she loves him. Then I walked outside and saw this. So, a good day in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. ππ€
Ooooh. Good to know. I wouldnβt mind the heft if it saves me from having to grab the whole telescope when I just want to take a quicker look at things. Thanks!
Pittsburgh, itβs a rare night. Crystal clear skies, no moon and itβs not bitter cold. The sky is stunning, especially Jupiter, Orion and Sirius. Jupiter is in Gemini, so itβs right next to the twin stars. Go take a peek!
Dear Pittsburgh, The Porch at Schenley has a $10 mocktail flight and itβs a delight. Not an ad!
The Westmoreland Museum of American Art has a new immersive experience that tells the story of Pittsburgh by dropping you right into paintings of the city since the early 1800s. It is one of most beautiful museum experiences Iβve ever seen. It grabbed my breath. The museum is free. Not an ad.
Literally don't know how to act.
This has been a Pittsburgh weather post ππ€οΈ
50 degrees?? Hellmouth opening somewhere on Route 28 next week for sure.
It's 31 degrees outside, Dorito. I'm personally already melting in this heatwave π
We generally read the very broad category of book club fiction but there has honestly been no book in the last three years that we all loved. At best we get to "it wasn't bad" or "I liked it." And we generally dislike our book picks more than we like them. We're the worst (but also the best haha)
Well I need to visit this ASAP. I don't struggle with SAD, but I've just about had it with this winter's snow and bitter cold. Done!
I hate when it's my turn to pick a bookclub book because I only read non-fiction history books while we generally read fiction. Please help me by recommending outstanding fiction you've recently read that would spark discussion. If you're in a bookclub, what have you read recently that was good?
