I've since finished Dragonquest & The White Dragon, the next two in the series/the remainder of the Omnibus edition I have.
Nothing really new to say - I love these books, they're very fun, I want a TV show and don't care how much it costs them to make.

Curling is my favourite Olympic sport. It's mostly a chill watch, but can still deliver some drama & excitement. You can understand the state of the game at a glance, and there's enough strategy that good commentators can reveal the depth of what's happening in a way you grasp quickly.

Three things:
1. That level of freedom was the aberration. Prior to that, kids weren't running free - they were home doing chores, and usually had a full time parent at home to supervise
2. We remember the shenanigans we got up to
3. People don't tolerate unsupervised kids in public anymore

The best case scenario of this is Neil Druckmann and TLOU, but imo that only worked because they did a direct translation of a story that was already TV shaped.
The likely outcome is he gets fired because he has no chill and can't compromise, or s1 is wildly expensive, bad, and the adaptation stops
