A bowl of pozole: a chili broth pork and hominy soup. There's a plate of toppings above it: cabbage, lime, radish, avocado, and a small dish of crema on the plate. Cut off on the edges of the frame is a plate ofto tostadas, and a plate of crumbled cotija.

The pozole is served in a childrens porcelain Royal Doulton Bunnykins bowl, there are running rabbits around the rim of the bowl.

We're making pozole rojo today! I'm _almost_ tempted to stop the whole process and just eat the chili base on chips

A work-in-progress knitting project on a wooden table. The knitting is a shawl in a golden brown yarn, but it's only half done. The pattern is alternating triangles of knit and purl stitches, separated by a raised diamond pattern of knit stitches. The live stitches have a lot of stitch markers interspersed, because otherwise I get distracted during the repeat.

My current knitting project, it's taking longer than I want so I'm trying to stay motivated

I have functionally lost any ambition I had at this point and would like people to leave me alone and let me do quality work in a corner somewhere until I'm ready to retire so every year that gets me closer to that is a win

Use "Graphic Media" label on the images and videos you share ffs. It's there for a reason.

I have seen that still frame of the execution from the video probably a dozen times reposted into my timeline today. I will probably start unfollowing, muting or blocking people.

I think people are erroneously interpreting the headline to mean that the Wikimedia Foundation is embracing AI for purposes like generating encyclopedia content, or are providing AI companies with more training data than they were already scraping.

These ridiculous mega-projects like "datacenters in space" (doomed by thermodynamics) make a LOT more sense when you realize they're massive Ponzi schemes designed to transfer wealth from pension funds to VC's through "fee stacking."

It's the old Assets Under Management con. It should be illegal.

Screenshot: "The bottom line is that artists’ rights are workers’ rights. You are not being progressive or radical by denying artists the right to control their own work. You are not helping the underprivileged by making it impossible for anyone who isn’t already rich and privileged to take up artistic careers. Your pirated Taylor Swift song isn’t feeding the poor. If you want to fight the power, maybe try hacking JP Morgan instead of pirating a vampire romance for your Kindle.

In fact, the constant devaluation of art has been a huge boon for large corporations. There is no one happier that it is increasingly acceptable to pay nothing to photographers, artists, writers, and musicians. Doritos would love for you to crowd source their next TV ad and Apple is thrilled you’ll pay more for an iPod because you know you can steal the music you’ll listen to on it."

Sanchez threw 14.1 more innings in the same number of starts, which had him .1 behind in fWAR, .3 ahead in bWAR, and 1.2 ahead by WARP. Sanchez also pitched in high leverage down the stretch. By advanced metrics, Sanchez was the deserving winner, but that wasn’t the narrative

A black cat’s tail is curled in front of a computer monitor, partially obstructing the screen. The screen displays a terminal window with lines of code or output in various colors. The bottom of the monitor shows a macOS dock with app icons, including Chrome, Mail, Firefox, GitHub, and Terminal. The monitor is branded "Sceptre."

It is really hard to imagine a better Philadelphia Phillies team than this one. Despite all the moaning and groaning on sports radio and the Phillies' Reddit this morning after such a brutal, embarrassing exit, the team should absolutely try to run this exact same team back next year.
Something has to change, I heard a man saying this morning. This team can't win a World Series. But he is wrong. This team can win a World Series. In the last four years, with a good portion of the same players, they have made a World Series, and an NLCS, and won the NL East two years in a row. That's a successful franchise. That's winning. That's giving yourself a chance. I hope they do it again next year. I hope they do it again forever.
