Also, the Mayorβs decision to increase rents on our assets risks destroying the valued work of our voluntary and community sector.
A perceived culture of patronage in Tower Hamlets was highlighted in the Governmentβs recent Best Value inspection report and is a subject of improvement work currently being undertaken in the council.
Mayor Rahman should protect our community's assets equally: towerhamlets.greenparty.org.uk/2025/07/17/c...
Was also important to speak to Setpoint London East and Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park about their relationships with the Council. I am working within the council to advocate for both organisations. I aim towards us all being able to work together for better outcomes for the whole borough πͺπ»π
Highlights included: gluten free cake from the WI, seeing Owen Beith in full swing on the Fair Trade stall and seeing @thwheelers.bsky.social giving free bike services and advice to local cyclists.
A long shot of the fair, most people under the shade of tall trees
A selfie of Nathalie with Owen Beith - fair trade campaigner holding fair trade tea with a stand full of resources and information about fair trade

Had a gorgeous time at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park Summer Fair on Saturday. Was so great to see everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves and the very welcome shade.
I can't stand by quietly while we fall behind our neighbours and risk a postcode lottery for safe streets. Mayor Rahman is letting us down by his policies and Labour aren't brave enough to take a stand on this issue.
Devastated that Tower Hamlets dropped 4 places in Healthy Streets Scorecard 2025 mostly because we've done nothing to improve our active travel infrastructure in the past year

It's suspected that under-reporting of crime and anti social behaviour is especially an issue in under-served or 'hard to reach' communities in Tower Hamlets. That's why I was pleased to join officers today for an engagement session for #ASBawarenessweek

Wherever this Labour Government will go next Rushanara is sure to follow, despite their actions which damage Tower Hamlets.
Tower Hamlets did not vote for Labour austerity. @rushanaraalibgs.bsky.social removed her previous opposition to the welfare reform bill from her website. Why is she still supporting a government which supports cutting benefits for the most vulnerable...
Out in the Malmesbury Estate in Bow with officers this morning. Really pleased to see things I've reported previously now fixed. Like this fire door no longer leaking water when it rains and these bins are fixed and looking very tidy!
