My Outlook email wants me to use “thank you” REALLY OFTEN—a lot more than even I, a person who expresses a lot of gratitude, would choose. Feels like my email is telling me, “You should smile more.”

Sara! I’m so glad you’re OK. big hugs to you.
I mean, it’s not taking my job anytime soon.
today Word spell-check let me know that “litigation” contains a spelling error—and it can offer me no suggested corrections. Feeling better about AI for sure.

Writing is thinking.
It's not some marginal boring task you can skip. It's the heart of it.
It’s not even a debate is it
Has #AppellateSky had a good cites-in-footnotes vs cites-in-text debate yet? #LegalWriting
Officially “this Whole Foods is playing my jams” years old
Take my money!!
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:
1) Jane Austen
2) Postcolonial Literature of South Africa
3) Dostoevsky’s Russia
4) Medieval Art & Architecture
5) Aristotle
Stars: they’re just like us!
I'm not so sure about this. Most legal research and legal writing profs I know are working to instill a healthy skepticism into the AI research process. My sense is most students are very cautious about relying on AI results and see how bad they often are.
Blessed are the nodders.

I’ve been making this mistake ALL DAY
I’m 1/3 of the way through What We Can Know and looking forward to reading more this weekend!
Been driving for over 30 years and I’m on my third car. I try to go 11 or 12 years per car.
Folks, using alt-text is *not hard* to do. Plus it’s the right thing to do. Do it. (Yes, I’m updating all my class materials for digital accessibility and I just had the pleasure of writing alt-text for an image of Jack McCoy addressing the jury in an episode of “Law & Order”.)
Being able to admit one was wrong is a superpower.
It’s possible the clothes got cuter and one hasn’t changed at all!
“The classroom is not a space to just pass along information. It is a space where we think together and write together. Without shortcuts. We learn what it means to do the work ourselves.”

Ohio State fan here! Witty 😉
This happens a lot in Columbus
That’s the decision we ultimately made.
We used to do that. At some point, decision was made that it’s more cost effective to purchase rather than rent every year.
Our school purchases a basic set for us—we can opt to get the fancy version with our school colors etc, and pay the difference.
🧵on getting through “friction” related to writing, and why not to short-circuit the process (i.e. why not to skip the hurdles by using generative AI).
We’re going back to 1996 for this one: ”You’re the smartest nice person I’ve ever met.”
