I have never ever attempted to draw @robertliefeld Youngblood. I was 12 when they hit. Image was life. I was more of a Spawn guy but I bought everything. Chapelβs appearance in Spawn was the coolest thing 13 year old me had ever seen. Today a buddy asked me to try to do something Youngblood so I am.

Got the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the greatest comic book thatβs ever been made. I donβt know why @JamesGunn doesnβt have a cartoon series of it in production right now but he should. Seriously, @grantmorrison and @frankquitely1 created a masterpiece that is miles beyond anything else.
Not if the story is strong enough and the work is delivered at a high enough polished level. I think anything can work if done right.

This got me. @JamesGunn you beautiful human. The fact that he put White Rabbit in Peacemaker and made her canon is awesome. Seems a cool villain, even if itβs kinda silly here. Loved this!
Going through some old stuff and found some old pieces. All are for sale if you see anything you like. Fun little look back.
All except the Moon Knight and Wolverine pieces are on 9βx 15β Image boards. (The best boards Iβve ever worked on.)

Another smudge glove bites the dust. Iβm going to have to start a whole separate fund just for gloves. Iβm going through about a glove a month now. Which means Iβm drawing a ton. Luckily I have 3 or 4 more in reserve. I canβt draw without it.
Spider-man Reign 2 was dope! Someone let Kaare Andrews have a Spider-man line. Let him take the @toddmcfarlane.bsky.social route on it. Loved the more mature Spidey. He would crush it! Speaking of Todd, @thomashealy.bsky.social why on earth hasnβt Kaare had a run on Spawn? That would be crazy!

I know for a fact that respect played a massive role amongst creators when I first got in the business. Which is what Iβve been saying the entire time. If you want to discuss business practices, thatβs fine. But those are two different things. Especially when talking about talent vs the companies.

Absolutely. Iβm saying that if you start pulling back outside of comics, that can be traced all the way back to the Malmedy Massacre in WW2. Where the seeds of that movement began to grow. My comment was focused purely on the comics industry solely.
The humidity change lead to a pencil lead change. Drawing with F lead felt like I was penciling with a razor blade. Had to bump to 2B just to get that smooth glide again. Sheesh!
Because they needed a scapegoat. And once you find and establish something as a scapegoat, itβs damn hard to let it go. Once it hits the mainstream zeitgeist, itβs almost impossible. When the culture started shifting, the code started falling apart. Then it just became a stamp and sells gimmick.
