Commands around the world, including U.S. Central Command in the Middle East, use Anthropic’s Claude AI tool, people familiar with the matter confirmed. Centcom declined to comment about specific systems being used in its ongoing operation against Iran.

The command uses the tool for intelligence assessments, target identification and simulating battle scenarios even as tension between the company and Pentagon ratcheted up, the people said, highlighting how embedded the AI tools are in military operations.

The WSJ is reporting that AI, specifically Claude, was used in targeting for the attacks by the Epstein Empire.

That would mean the use of AI led directly to the massacre of 115 schoolchildren and 20 volleyball players.

Authors, show me your tattoos to commemorate your books! Did you do covers? A symbolic image? Quotes? Something abstract? I think I'm going to start one that I add onto with each book and would love some ideas.

What's your random thing you think about all the time? Not prompted by current events or anything else, just always on your mind.

For me it it's entropy. Just constantly thinking about how everything in the universe is slowly but surely endeavoring to melt into a puddle of inert cosmic goo.

Hats off to GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN DON'T DIE for absolutely roasting society's embarrassing prioritization of convenience and self-gratification over everything else, including our own wellbeing. More movies should aggressively shame their audiences about phone hypnosis/ gun violence/ social media/ AI.

it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."

Man, 34, is no longer blind after tooth is implanted in eye in 'crazy' surgery Tooth-in-eye surgery sounds like science fiction, but it can help people with severely damaged corneas see again. A patient and his doctors describe what it's like.

TIL that for some people with irreparably damaged corneas, you can pull one of their teeth, drill a hole in it, install an artificial lens, sew it into their cheek (so tissue attaches), then pull it out and stick it in their damaged eye, and ... it works fine!?! www.nbcboston.com/news/health/...

I kept blaming Mondays for my struggle to hit my word count targets at the beginning of each week, but then I remembered the genocide and fascism and robots and our melting brains and the crumbling climate and the death of democracy and was forced to concede that the problem *may* not be Mondays

I mean *I* know that (never used it, never will), but I'm assuming people who use it in place of a healthcare professional probably use it for a lot more than that as well, so I was mostly saying to at LEAST do not do THAT

07.08.2025 22:15 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

GOOD. The fact that this actually had to be spelled out like this is wild, but I’m glad at least one state finally did.

Fair, although I feel like it’s still preferable to be confidently wrong on your homework assignment and fail than to be confidently wrong on your health and die. (But like… why are folks willingly putting themselves in either of these scenarios)

07.08.2025 16:23 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

That’s where *I* am with it for sure, but for the folks who aren’t there yet, I need them to at LEAST stop entrusting their health to it
