Pokopia has taken over my Switch friends list
@rodkin.online is there a possibility for a Twin Peaks The Return rewatch podcast? think itβd be interesting to hear what you guys think after all this time.
celebrated with early morning gothic architecture talk
treating Pokopia as my cozy game genre test. if I canβt get into this, the genre just isnβt for me.
my long held theory that a regular Altaria has never KOβd a playerβs Pokemon in its long history of existing. what a horrible Pokemon
boomer take but Eevee and friends shouldnβt be out in the wild π
Scarlet/Violetβs postgame has a similar appeal to Mario Kart Worldβs open world - gives you the opportunity to just go brain off and glide around to fill out your PokΓ©dex, find trainers and find items.
I donβt know what his role is with the series anymore but I still get a little choked up when I see Satoshi Tajiri in the credits of modern Pokemon games.
if the team had another year, I wanted to add. it looks like wind/waves has received significantly more dev time so Iβm more hopeful for that than I was a few days ago, before I finally played through Violet
finished the main story. overall, itβs better than sword/shield and mixes up some of the series tropes. it definitely picks up when you get more freedom. ultimately it still suffers in certain areas presumably due to not having enough dev time. I think itβs a good game that could have been great.
I like that gym leaders donβt full restore spam you in this game. always thought that was cheap and lazy design in past games.
I was wondering why all the Pokemon I was facing for a while were 10 levels higher than mine but it let me level up faster so I wasnβt complaining
I like that the game allowed me to unintentionally tackle the harder areas early, making the gym battles I missed earlier much easier when I finally discovered them.
I played a lot more of it today and it gets better when you get the upgraded travel mechanics
even with the Switch 2 boosts, the short distance pop-in is rampant
the game let me jump to this little island without letting me leave it. pretty sloppy. fortunately you can fly back to a pokemon center.
put some more time into Pokemon Violet today in another attempt to get into it and I still just find it very mediocre. itβs hard for me to fully articulate why at the moment but Iβll keep thinking through it.
shame the Scream 7 saga unfolded the way it did. Iβd otherwise be going tonight and getting one of those silly ghost face popcorn buckets
kind of curious about Pokopia now. will look into it
I've always had the impression that TPC considers Yu-Gi-Oh! to be a lesser IP, but I hope they'll do a Charizard/Blue-Eyes White Dragon and similar collaborations someday.
OoT and MGS were power fantasies and I loved that their sequels played with that concept.
I still think about how Majora's Mask and Metal Gear Solid 2 strongly circumvent player expectations after telling triumphant stories in OoT/MGS1 respectively. so grateful that things ended up that way. I never wanted OoT2
my only wish for the Pokemon Anniversary Direct is one name drop of Satoshi Tajiri, to acknowledge the development of the original games.
playing Alan Wake for the first time on PS5. itβs not perfect and definitely shows its age as a 360 era AAA game but itβs pretty good overall.
is there anything more theoretical than OneDrive syncing
per PriceCharting, a cartridge-only copy of FireRed goes for $140. this is a game that sold millions of copies in its day, yet the demand to play these games remains very high.
"I can just emulate them"
Great, play them how you wish.
