It’s just a really nice short brief with links to good articles, a lot of which I can access with my Apple News subscription. Sort of takes the sensationalization / algorithm driven-ness out of the things I get surfaced while still keeping me up to date

This is such an intentionally obtuse take… the horror genre is built around scaring the viewer. One can dislike being scared and still want to engage with media that covers horrific things. Not liking horror doesn’t mean someone can’t see horror in things, it means they don’t like being scared.
Magic links are also still subject to scammers calling people up and convincing them to click on the links! They’re at best an additive security measure, not a replacement.
