I feel like a society of people who can live millennia before they even begin to show signs of age would treat the concept of adulthood differently. In the Inheritance Cycle, Arya was 103, but other elves treated her as one would a young child. I always found that detail interesting.
I see people complain that Arator is treated more like a naive teenager than the 40-something-year-old man he is, and tbh I kinda like that he is treated more like the former. He is a half-elf and will presumably enjoy a far longer life than a human naturally will.
