Simply an icon. Gracious and warm in person, a bulldog when she fights for us and the planet, we're a better country because of Nancy Pelosi. From the bottom of my heart, Madam Speaker, thank you.

A crowd of people holding signs that say "VOTE"
Reminder: 33 states have elections today! Make sure you cast your ballot if yours is one of them!
Cost of living, including rising energy bills, is a major issue for voters. Our state affiliates are running big campaigns in major races this fall to highlight who is focused on the issues that matter and who is making the problem even worse. Thread and memo below on key β‘ races weβre watching π§΅π
The electric bills are too damn high and we need to call out who is making them higher
"Itβs not enough just to wave placards and say, 'Climate change!' The point is to take actual action. To do your bit."
Jane Goodall was an environmental hero who dedicated her life to protecting animals and their habitats and who understood the threat of climate change more than anyone.
Trump and the Republicans have shut down the government because they want to continue raising costs for everything.
We seem to mostly scream and shout at each other about disagreements. Here's an exception - pretty much everyone wants dangerous chemicals out of our food. Now we just need Congressional Republicans to pay attention. https://bit.ly/46sdA80
Shared this on LinkedIn the other day, but think with a shutdown looming and horrible news, itβs good to share here too. Hereβs whatβs keeping me hopeful about the coming months https://bit.ly/42cERZq
Threatening peopleβs healthcare and livelihoods to please your mega-donors isnβt leadership.
Happy Public Lands Day from past me celebrating the designation of Camp Hale as a national monument. Looking forward to the day we can celebrate like this again.
CON JOB ALERT! Trump's "energy dominance" is ALL HAT and NO CATTLE. STRONG piece from @sammyroth.bsky.social
These were projects that dealt with sewage leaks and flooding and lowered cancer rates. They are not partisan projects; no one wants sewage in their homes. Stop this nonsense - donβt do things that hurt people. https://wapo.st/4gt1yhV
A photo of a bus. On the side of it is an ad that suggests people undertake a home energy audit.
How βbout we focus on the real problem: Trump banning clean energy and insisting on expensive, dirty energy - instead of victim blaming us for running the AC in the summer.
Donβt know about you but Iβd really like to know whatβs being pumped into the air I breathe.
I do this work because I want a country and a world that is safe for everyone. That includes those whose views I vehemently disagree with. Violence does not have a place in our world.
The cost of canceling offshore wind projects is more than just lost jobs and wasted work β itβs higher rates for everyone paying bills: https://bit.ly/4mW4XrK
Dissent is patriotic. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2025/08/29/epa-dissent-letter-employees-fired/
We always say that elections have consequences, but itβs also the case that bad votes in Congress have consequences: https://politi.co/4lTarCp
Wildland firefighters are the best among us. Terrorizing them makes us all less safe, not more. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/climate-lab/federal-agents-arrest-firefighters-working-on-wa-wildfire/
Killing clean energy projects means killing jobs and raising bills. 64,000 jobs already lost or at risk. 400,000 more on the line. The future is clean energyβand thatβs where we must invest.
More storms will brew in the Atlantic this summer, and we're unprepared to forecast and respond to them. If you remember what it felt like that day in 2005, and you want to do something, call your Senators. Tell them to insist Trump fund FEMA, NOAA and all the agencies that protect us.
Working for environmental justice means working to prevent more Katrinas, and Irmas, and Harveys, and Marias. It's working to protect the communities who're being hit the hardest AND to stop the climate crisis full stop so storms like these don't continue to grow and grow.
20 years ago today I'd just moved into a new house with my two young kids. I remember watching coverage of Katrina, wondering if we had space to take in a displaced family, wondering what I could do to prevent it happening again.
I also recently saw this great blog post from @ucs.org that I think is great for sharing with anyone in your life who doesnβt know what NOAA does
This is the kind of specific, life-impacting legislation that shouldnβt be partisan β everyone wants good weather reporting.
A screenshot of a Donald J. Trump Truth Social Post. The text lies: Any State that has build and relied on WINDMILLS and SOLAR for power are seeing RECORD BREAKING INCREASES IN ELECTRICITY AND ENERGY COSTSS. THE SCAM OF THE CENTURY! We will not approve wind or farmer destroying Solar. The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!! MAGA
When you CUT OFF WIND AND SOLAR (which MANY smart people say are the CHEAPEST, CLEANEST and MOST BEAUTIFUL energy sources) prices WILL GO UP. The ones raising energy prices are TRUMP, and the OIL and GAS COMPANIES who gave him $1BILLION.
Here's a potential perfect storm risk: uncertain increasing electric from data centers + Trump admin banning clean energy = higher prices and dirtier air for rate payers.
We need our legislators to invest in scalable, affordable clean energy solutions before it's too late.
@coloradosun.com
This president taking control of a local police force is an abuse of power and textbook authoritarianism, full stop.
DC crime is at a 30 year low. Statehood now is the answer.
Good to see this from @aflcio.org
