Showed this to the kids and they have rightly pointed out that whilst they have captioned and provided details about Stargazing, Myles Smith is actually singing Nice to Meet You. Quite an error.

I for one agree that we should teach people to adapt their behaviour to deal with the inconsiderate actions of others. But I'd prioritise those changes that can prevent death and serious injury over those that mean someone gets to their appointment a teeny bit later.
I raise you seeing colleagues doing the conga.
Not going to lie... this is possibly the best thing I've watched in years. Over an hour of back-to-back classic tunes performed by the original artist and an orchestra.
Thank you Helen Puttick for interviewing me for @thetimes about the deeply personal motivation behind my new book βBeyond the Medical Gaze: Practicing Psychologically Informed Healthcareβ β€οΈβπ©Ή

We've cheated and they've both gone in with books that have titles that are their first names.
(Glad I didn't do that as a kid, not sure rags and a begging bowl is a great school costume).
I'm actually surprised it's *only* 30 years ago. Always associate it with earlier in the 90s.
This is exactly what happened to Babylon. Made it so easy to see a GP that they got swamped with visits that didn't require a GP.
There is a huge difference between reducing barriers for people who genuinely need a GP to see one, and frictionless appointment booking that just ramps up demand.
This is pretty poor journalism/maths from the BBC.
As a % of total RTC deaths, pedestrian deaths have nearly doubled. But in real terms the number has gone from 17 (28.5% of 62) to 24 (48% of 50). So the headline and opening paragraph are wrong.
Someone call @timharford.ft.com
And for younger readers, he means Dexter Proctor!
Most orgs won't allow you to work with food until you've done a Basic Food Hygiene course.
Similarly there are quite a few H&S style employment restrictions without appropriate skills, eg working near water usually requires proof of ability to swim.
Already finished eating my lunch and it's not even 11:55.
As a resident of Rugby I'm intrigued to know whereabouts this mythical Pork Pie shop is? Wouldn't they just head to Melton Mowbray?
Also, do what this guy does:
Listening to Sophie Ellis Bexter's Kitchen Disco whilst preparing dinner and she plays Dario G.
Back in the day it was the first song on the Radio 1 emergency tape and whenever you heard it it generally meant the station had fallen off air.
Still gets my attention all these years later.
Firefox reading mode is my default option now for these sites.

Over recent months, we've been working across the volunteering system to explore whether we can improve digital services about volunteering opportunities and get more people involved. Find out more

Not nearly as much as you think. They are pricing in the costs of delivery at all costs, so building in lots of redundancy and alternative provision because it's their job to make sure the day goes without hitch. You can't simply give a refund if you screw up someone's wedding day.
We nearly sent our child to school today prepped for a school trip... which happens in four weeks time!
It's all happening in Norfolk isn't it? First Truss, then AMW and now this!
Not directly, but I know the lovely people at @grapevinecovwarks.bsky.social who probably do.
Something about this story doesn't add up...
There are HR people who really get this. Have you come across Perry Timms and his collective? pthr.co.uk
There are not many politicians (or people full stop) who have had a life like Labour's Naz Shah. She tells me all about it.

Tbf, my school (in England) moved from ties to sweaters in the 90s. Now live in a different area & lots of schools (inc my kids') insist on blazers, which I find odd. Their school allows PE kit on PE days and for other activities, so they only actually tend to wear school uniform twice a week.
Makes total sense to me.
As someone who rarely wears anything more formal than jeans and a shirt to go to work, it does seem ridiculous that we dress kids in blazers and ties and then get surprised they don't want to run around in the playground at break.
They could make an exception surely with a sign that says "Nun shall pass".
This is the exact location, next to the Ceossford Bridge playing fields.

Realised I was pretty much the only person on BlueSky who hadn't fallen down the #SmallProphets rabbit hole. So fixed that, and binged the whole series this afternoon. Wow. What a programme.
