Today we’re organising the closing event of #SolidLab, where we’ll launch the continuation of the community as #Trustflows.

We’re still working on #interoperability, but we’re now adding #legalcompliance and #trust as major drivers, continuing the mission we started with Solid.

Creating the standard is often just the last step once we already agree on 90% of it.

Don’t equate #interoperability with #standardization. The process of creating interoperable solutions involves so much more.

Standardization isn’t something you can just throw effort at and expect it to deliver.

I often compare it to writing a hit song: being good helps, having a great marketing strategy helps, timing helps, having some funding helps, and so on.

Next Monday we’re organizing the closing event of the SolidLab research project in De Krook - Ghent, where we’ll launch our next steps with the #Trustflows community.

Reusable specifications stack: project goals → interaction patterns → shapes → vocabularies → alignments.

The burden of aligning data has always been on the integrator. Linked Data is not about shifting this burden to the data producers entirely, but about distributing the burden equally in the ecosystem.

There’s a tension between being semantically rich, and being semantically aligned. Eventual #interoperability is a new term I propose to indicate that you can do one after the other

LLM APIs are a Synchronization Problem Maybe the LLM message APIs should be rethought as a synchronization problem.

I am also gradually coming round to the view that interaction between humans/client apps and (perhaps multiple) AI agents is a state synchronisation problem that probably needs CRDTs lucumr.pocoo.org/2025/11/22/l...

Next week we’re hosting the second in-person #LDES workshop at #SEMIC2025.

Piotr Sowiński will be the keynote speaker. He developed Jelly, a binary RDF format for syncing RDF datasets at speeds we can only aspire to.
