This is the best video I’ve seen yet of last night’s #meteor ☄️ clearly showing a moving and growing fireball with two bright flashes. How cool to have heard🦻 such an event! Does anyone know where this was taken? Interested to find the original location and which direction the camera was facing.
Looking at the satellite image I think it broke up north east of the city. I think if it had burst lower to the ground and close to the city it certainly could have broken a few windows!
GOES 18 also picked it up, wild!
Sonic boom at around 9:11pm local time was strong enough to create a spike on the seismometer in Maple Ridge. If it was a meteor it was a big one!

Reports all over the lower mainland of a bright flash followed by a very large boom a minute later. Did you hear it? If it was a meteor it must have been on the scale of the Chelyabinsk Event.

Quite the upset for Canada Olympic Hockey 🏒 good game though, team looked strong. Overall for 2026 games though not the best showing for the country. One less gold medal than 2022 but total medal count trending to the lowest since 2002. A good time to reflect and rebuild.

Thanks! Been doing some experiments with both Claude and GPT on verilog and since RTL is so rare in the wild it’s hard to say which is outperforming the other. Both had strengths, but I think the human needs to still be heavily involved in hardware whether we like it or not 🙂
