— you can also lose success for reasons beyond your control (algorithm changes, world events, etc.). you either adapt, accept it or simply stop promoting your social media;

(but if you somehow figure out how to influence platform policies or the world in general... invite me to the barricades)

— survivorship bias exists;
— social interaction is crucial for promotion. if you’re not drawing fan art or trending topics, this becomes even more important;
— you can invest a huge amount of time in social media and still achieve nothing;

— don’t put other artists down just because you think your skill is higher, their topics are overused or they’re not interesting to you personally. envy isn't a good look;
— yes, people might like your sketch more than the finished piece. for many, simpler visuals are easier to process;

Because I have been stagnant on it for over a year, and I cannot claim it is just from being fixated on the Tiefling version of Snowhawk. --- The second post, made 2:11 PM on March 4, 2026, also from Snowhawk Okay. It's started. Picture shows current progress. [picture is not shown in this screenshot, but attached] There are going to be major changes. A large reason I haven't progressed is it's plot spaghetti. And The Spahgets happen with most long term projects. So, I'm going to approach it not as one huge ass book, but several (much) smaller ones. Each focused more specifically to a character or two, or an event. They won't be individual, serialized chapters, but also not 97k words with 15+ characters and way too many tangled plot threads. While writing the Tiefling's back story, I realized I liked that approach better. It's several major points of her life until the events of BG3 begin, which spans 94 years, in 3.8k words. There's room to add more, or slip in other lore, if I want. And I think for my writing style as it is now, that will work out better.

It's called a Pacific spiny lumpsucker. They are 2.5 - 13cm. They live on the Asian and North American coasts of the North Pacific.

They live in shallow water. They have suction cups on their butts to keep the attached to rocks as the tide goes out.
