The Texas GOP Now Has a Place for Candidates Once Too Far Right to Get Elected John Cornyn forced a runoff against Ken Paxton, but the Tim Dunn wing of the party had an otherwise stellar night.

An anti-Furry pastor. A gun-toting Youtuber. An Islamophobic Twitter troll. The guy who secretly bought Jeffrey Epstein's New Mexico ranch. Ken Paxton. A quick look at the Texas primary, in which the once-fringe far right further proved that they are the new GOP mainstream:

"Two years after a brutal Texas GOP civil war, the party’s arc still bends toward its far-right flank."

Six years after Trump commuted his prison sentence for money laundering convictions, Steve Stockman is emerging as a spoiler candidate in the race between the Trump-endorsed Alex Mealer and Briscoe Cain.

He Wants to Deport 100 Million β€œThird World Savages.” He May Win Statewide Office in Texas. He calls his opponents β€œgay” and β€œretarded,” and he wants to deport 100 million β€œthird world savages.” Naturally, he’s running for railroad commissioner.

Much more on Bo French, who is being funded by Defend Texas Liberty, the PAC that far-right billionaire Tim Dunn mothballed after I reported that its leader met with Nick Fuentes:

Bo French - who has called to deport Native Americans, frequently uses the R-word, pals around with Jack Posobiec, recently asked his followers if Jews or Muslims pose a bigger threat to America, and gleefully called the day SNAP benefits lapsed "National Chimp out Day" - currently leads with 41%

Very interesting: In Tarrant County, an epicenter of the Texas far right, John Cornyn currently leads with 46% to Paxton's 37%. Meanwhile, in the Texas Comptroller race, far-right candidate Don Huffines is leading Kelly Hancock, a relative moderate who represented the area, by 23 points.

I should mention that Sid Miller is, among many other things, an Islamophobic former champion rodeo cowboy who once was investigated for using taxpayer funds to travel to Oklahoma for a β€œJesus Shot” that he believed would cure all pain for life.

Americans Stranded in the Middle East Aren’t Getting Help from the State Department β€œPlease do not rely on the U.S. government for assisted departure or evacuation,” a State department hotline said when NOTUS called Tuesday afternoon.

NEWS: Americans were told to evacuate the Middle East β€” but the State Dept is not helping them do it.

We called the State hotline. First thing you hear is an automated message: "Do not rely on the U.S. government for assisted departure or evacuation."

All I can think about is Jeff Bezos saying that he slashed jobs at the Washington Post β€” including those of foreign correspondents in the Middle East β€” based on "the data," and a few weeks later a whole war breaks out in the Middle East that these laid off folks would have covered as true experts.

🎊🎊 Happy Texas Primary Day yall! I’m celebrating by tracking whether far-right candidates continue a years long electoral hot streak. A 🧡🧡 of storylines I’m watching, replete with all the color and wackiness you’d expect from our most colorful and wacky state:

Texas’s Biggest Right-Wing Donor Has Abandoned Ken Paxton Tim Dunn was the attorney general’s biggest supporter. The U.S. Senate run has changed things.

And of course, the Ken Paxton of it all. Will the embattled, Biblically-divorcing attorney general’s myriad scandals be too much for voters? Can Paxton defeat a John Cornyn, a Texas institution, without the backing of his longtime benefactor, far-right billionaire Tim Dunn?

Inside the Texas GOP’s Anti-Muslim Campaigning With national prospects looking bleak for Republicans heading into the midterms, the party has dusted off an old bogeyman.

In the Attorney General race, three candidates - Chip Roy, β€œMAGA Mayes” Middleton and Aaron Reitz - have spent most of the campaign trying to outflank each other from the right in what they say is a societal war against Islam.

What Does the Railroad Commision Have to Do With β€œRadical Islam”? Everything, One Candidate Says Tarrant County GOP chair Bo French, known for his incendiary online presence, recently tendered his resignation to seek a position on the regulatory body that oversees the oil-and-gas industry.

Will Bo French's hardline, anti-Muslim campaign be enough to win a spot on the Texas Railroad Commission? Or will voters decide that fighting β€œradical Islamists” does not have that much to do with regulating the oil and gas industry?

Meanwhile, in the race for Ag Commissioner, Sid Miller is hoping that his recent endorsements by Trump and a weightlifter named Tiny Meeker will be enough to beat the well-funded, Abbott-backed Nate Sheets, who Miller has recently been attacking as a porn addict who makes fake organic honey.
