I believe it even was used in the Access Hollywood segment on them. Yeah. My wedding is part of that in such a…weird way.
A picture from my wedding was printed in Woman’s World magazine. That sounds fake. It’s true. It was used as a fat before picture for a dieting influencer and her mother who were on the cover.
Here’s what’s crazy. Miramax only has one BP in the 2000s but they had nominees nonstop that are even more forgotten than ever. They roared back in 2010/2011 but died violently after.
Trying to but yes. Actually it’s funny. He only has one win that decade and it’s for an actual good movie.
Which is actually the plot of the film!
And I do go into the fact I think it’s pretty good to be fair. I think it would hit that way. :)
You know what’s scary? I believed you because of the books I’ve read. I actually believed this unblinking because she’s been that bad!
That's clear. They only gave in on LOTR because it stuck the landing so impossibly hard. But this was their error. They wound up selecting bizarre films that have aged poorly like Slumdog Millionaire and Crash.
Colleen Hoover is amazing because she seems to make Nicholas Sparks stories but actually this is Juror #2 if he was honest immediately. It’s amazing this might actually be one of the sadder Maika Monroe movies!
Apollo 13 is such a weird outlier for that
The Oscars got it right twice in the 2000s. Lord of the Rings: ROTK and No Country For Old Men actually are correct wins. Chicago is close.
There won’t be a piece like this for The Departed because it’s not this. It’s a popular movie to this day from a legend.

I still have to laugh that the leads almost feel like IP though because of their parents. Like I get it. It’s an original film but you found adaptations of great 90s actors! (They’re both marvelous talents in their own right)

Horns is good but NOS4A2… it’s better than It.
He’s very distinct. Like I don’t read him for his dad. I read him because I love HIS voice. That said he will be the ideal candidate for that because he’s so good
The actual truth is somehow even better. They adapted his work for the show. Not as a nice way of paying homage. Because he’s Joe Hill and he’s a god tier horror writer, like one of the best. A king. Literally. That’s his last name.
Fun fact: The kid in the framing device for Creepshow is now a hardcore activist against violence in the media who loudly protested the Shudder series.

Here’s a problematic story I’ve heard. A woman lied about her age (she was legal but young) to hookup with an older man the night they met. If I put that in a story, that’s gross and bad. And guess what? That’s how my PARENTS met. Romance is all about being the worst person possible.
One of the silliest examples of how we have ruined romances on film is I saw someone point out how abusive Ryan Gosling’s date demand in The Notebook was. Maybe, but the context is we eventually get confirmation they were married for decades and he’s actually clearly in the wrong in the film!
It genuinely rocks that in 2026 there’s an actor who can pull off young Bill Pullman in a romcom and he’s paired with an actress nailing young Uma Thurman.

Duel is an absolute masterpiece. It’s a tv movie but it broke Steven Spielberg for a reason. It’s instantly identifiable as his own. You watch it and you see so much you’ll see as recent as shots in the Disclosure Day trailer.
Watch the camera work in this sequence. This is one of the greatest sequences in a thriller I’ve ever seen. The camera always draws your eye along. And the director of this was on his first movie. m.youtube.com/watch?v=6YNv...
Why, god why, do we act like it isn’t astonishing unwatchable garbage
When I walked out of TSMBM I thought “you know what? That’s what I prayed for as a kid and never got.” That was wonderful to have. I love it for what it is. Pure profound love for Mario.
