For a league with lots of local fans and not enough national ones, just seems like an easy and necessary way to try to expand interest.
7:30 & 10 pm games every Friday, Sunday & Monday. 2:30 & 4:30 games every Saturday before the full Saturday slate starting at 7:30.
Just like that we've given more than half the league exclusive TV windows so fans can get to know them, and the star players.

Bring back Viernes de Fútbol, man. Two standalone MLS games every Friday night, one at 7:30 and one at 10.
We went on @thepostcincy.com’s podcast to talk about futi data, our new MLS Daily newsletter and how to be smarter about soccer stats.
This is a huge story in US soccer right now, folks 👇
ICYMI: The USL emailed every Championship player an FAQ doc that included guidance on “crossing a picket line” and “Union membership resignation.”
An active player said teammates couldn’t find it until they checked spam. “I just think it’s a bunch of bullshit.”
Full report at @us.theguardian.com.
“We bombed a school and killed all 100+ students inside because an AI chatbot said it was a military facility” is yet another true thing you can’t say to offline normies without sounding like a crazy person
The home form this season in MLS has been holding strong. CC @mattdoyle.bsky.social
this is a bar but I think it's wrong – casual soccer fans definitely exist.
Casual MLS fans, though?
Atlanta United's success in 2026 will hinge on their home record. Hot take: They'll need to win more than four games at the Benz.
For @scarvesandspikes.com, I looked at past MLS seasons to see the "magic number" that could help them return to the playoffs:

For those asking (once again) why more fans weren't in Harrison today... making its 2026 debut...

That’s right.
did you get water on it or something
It makes me happy to have helped create a platform that refutes the dead internet theory
Oh fuck
Yes, in a future newsletter!
For #MLS betting purposes, I'm not putting much stock into the strong start in 2026 for home teams.
Primarily just a matchup-based quirk. The early season schedule was over indexed with bad teams on the road for the first two weeks of the season.
Bad teams don't win away + drop pts when home
I think the variety of climates in MLS is a huge factor.
An interesting note, it has been difficult to correlate travel with home/road success in MLS in the past. The HFA is similarly large between two teams 3000 miles apart and 500 miles apart. Would be curious to check this out more recently.
We talked about it on The Hex as well - not only home field but note how the West is undefeated 11-0-3 vs the East so far this season...crazy!!! But the West was the home team in every game.
Home field advantage in MLS was never a mystery – but its sudden return is
