Congrats!

Iβve taken YouTube as an acceptable loss - due to the scale of engineering and content requirements for a platform like that, itβs basically impossible to replace. You can always yt-dlp the videos though :)
I use NextCloud as a drive replacement. The all-in-one even has an okay office suite.
Iβve been an avid supporter of Kagi since day one, yes they do AI but I think they do it in an acceptable way - search AI is explicitly opt in for queries, their AI assistant is largely a privacy centric front end to models, and they have tools to avoid the βslopβ and promote the βsmall webβ.
Itβs funny how it categorizes things, it put me squarely in the WoW Community category, I guess kinda edging towards the game dev side
If you live here and have suggestions of places to look let me know! Capitol Hill is definitely on the list, but anywhere along the light rail would be ideal
Last day in Seattle, about to head home. Definitely melancholy about it, but that just means I have to return soon! And start looking for somewhere to live :)
Iβm stuck in SoCal for another year due to my lease and some upcoming medical things, but no longer due to a job, and I think Seattle is the only choice for me.
I can see why so many people love it here.
Iβm visiting Seattle for the first time ever this week, I just landed. And I think Iβm already in love with the city from even before I was on the ground. Itβs a beautiful cityscape, and being able to take a train from the airport to a short distance from my hotel is a great first impression.
Next up, one of the first gems I took when I first got my camera, Los Angeles City Hall as seen from Chinatown
Fujifilm X-T50, Acros film simulation - XF35mm f/2
A photo of urban text on sidewalk concrete, with some green and brown leaves covering bits here and there, with the following inspirational message painted onto it in black text: βUnfukyourself Be who you were Before the stuff that happened That dimmed your Fuken Shineβ Typos carried over
Gonna start posting my photography on this account, since Iβve fallen in love with the hobby again. First is not the best of my work, but itβs urban text I came across that really sums up where Iβm at on my personal journey; working to find my spark again after an emotionally draining 2025.
I too miss that, it was so convenient. Drop it off in the morning and itβd be ready before you went home. π Iβm in the same boat I havenβt had my car cleaned since I left
Carton for a product called the sE DM1 Dynamite, an inline preamp for dynamic and ribbon microphones. The package imitates a stick of dynamite, being red and cylindrical, with a fuse to top it off
Contender for the worldβs best packaging of a product. Itβs an inline preamp for my dynamic mic but looks like a literal stick of dynamite
Middle aged black Labrador, with brown eyes being the focus point, sitting and looking up at the camera.
Photo of a miniature labradoodle, with brown eyes, a white face, and brown nose, looking to right of frame. Dog is sitting on stairs (not in frame) with the photo itself framed by out of focus banister supports.
Family doggies
Welp
The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go.
Highly recommend @kagi.com + Privacy Pass for everyone. Honestly the best search engine Iβve ever used (been a happy paying subscriber since month 1) and you can use it without tying it back to yourself.
All other seach engines are free because you are the product help.kagi.com/kagi/privacy...
Call me genuinely surprised. Based on the rhetoric of some of the judges in earlier rulings, I thought this was for sure on the chopping block.
easy - i wasn't even worried (yes I was)
Picture of black short haired dog with a noticeable amount greying around the eyes, muzzle, and neck. She is laying in bed, with one paw propped up on a pillow. The photograph is taken with a large aperture and has a shallow depth of field, focusing around the eyes. Photograph was taken on a Fujifilm X-T50 with a 56mm lens at f/1.4
Picture of black short haired dog with a noticeable amount greying around the eyes, muzzle, and neck. She is sitting similar to how a human would sit on a bed, nearly straight up and is yawning. She has some lumps on her chest and sides from lipomas
I got it figured out, I had to just setup prefix lists for OSPF to correctly filter my WAN IPs, but I am curious what you use if youβd like to share.
I donβt use Tailscale or anything like it as I want control over all aspects and all my routers are running opnsense.
Ever spend 3 hours debugging why your Wireguard connection keeps dropping and causing your OSPF sessions to time out, only to realize you were advertising the IP Wireguard used to connect to the VPN in your OSPF area causing Wireguard to attempt to send it's own outer packets down the tunnel?
Picture of a book shelf, with a collection of Isaac Asimov books, including the Robot series and the Foundation series.
The good news: I finally filled in my Asimov shelf. The bad news - I am officially out of bookshelf space and I don't really want to buy another bookshelf if I am going to be moving in the not too distant future π

How I feel as someone who just purchased an M4 MBP π€‘ between this and the A19 having matmul instructions on the GPU implying M5 will have them, I shoulda waited a year
I like to think my younger self had good taste in games. Portal 1 was my first game from Steam, but it was free as they were celebrating Steam on Mac OS.
The reason they are all* Valve titles is because I started my computer gaming journey on a Mac, and still do my game development on a Mac.
Iβve heard nothing but good things about the L1T switches from a variety of places, but havenβt tried them myself yet www.store.level1techs.com/products/kvm plus itβs supporting a small independent company
I love that festivals upload a lot of their sets on YouTube now. Because sets like this deserve to be appreciated forever youtu.be/LIZCWL2zdPo?...
